Response to Re: I agree, however ... |
| "At what point in the confrontation are you aware of his intentions beyond just talking, yelling and or physical action taken towards you?"
Who says any of that HAS to take place? It MAY, or not.
"Confrontation is your Que, That's when I know... not the push. if you are doing the other things mentioned you are in "Denial" and you deserve to be hit."
Sure, that is a great cue. But to say it will always be there to warn you is to live in your own denial. Your only clue MAY be the body tells of expression, structure and motion just prior to the push- in which case the push just MAY happen, and YOU may have to TAKE CONTROL, not initiate it.
" "You are just a Tiger and can only react" Wonder if those lines from "The Perfect Weapon" were Mr. Parker's....maybe that's why Tigers are almost extinct."
Tigers are extinct because they like to party and do stupid things. Trust me on this one ...
"If you are not always ready 100% of the time, then maybe you need to rethink your training to realize when you need to be more alert and or position/take action that will increase the odds in your favor."
Come on- you never relax or let your guard down? I bet if you are honest with yourself (won't ask you to answer here), that even occurs at work.
"I don't gamble unless it is a sure thing!!!!"
Well, I suppose you won't need to recognize the tells for poker then.
" "Recognize" implies thought is involved....if you have to think about it, you are too late, you should have thought about it ahead of time before you ever got into the situation......People that train wisely should have considered this already, if you have not, then maybe you should!!!!"
I guess you missed the part about the "recognition" being put into subconsciouse memory, and that being faster than consciouse thought. Your response to the threat is automatic, not a consciouse thought process.
"If you are only reacting, then you are no more than a puppett on a string and someone else is pulling those strings!!!!"
If reaction is automatic, those strings get broken and the puppeteer gets entangled in his own aparatus.
"If Physical is your only choice, you are limiting your options. Mental and verbal can create the barriers you need to avoid the problem.....not just stepping forward or back or which hand should I lead with!!!!!"
Yes, and to expand on that, if you do not recognize the minute physical cues as well, you would be severely limmited and dependant on the more overt signs that you seem to be fixated on.
"Bottom line, do what you want....the advice is free, it will save you years in your learning curve.....and the payoff could be priceless...Your Life!!!!!"
I thank you sir, and I do conside your advice, as well as Mr. Tatums' advice. My only point here was that we should try and understand correctly what he was saying. Then things sort of went downhill ...
Dangit, back in the pit,
