The day that will live in infamy. I had a great uncle at Pearl Harbor, stationed on the Arizona. He had gone ashore on an errand, and stopped to use the WC. Heard and felt the attacks from inside the outhouse. Ran out while pulling up his drawers, looking to see his ship lighting up with bombs.

Says he said to himself, "Our world is forever changed".

The impetus that started the work of the "greatest generation" started today, in 1941.

i didnt have anyone in that part of the world fighting but i have had great uncles fight in the war and fought alongside the americans in italy with the special forces (black devils). my dads uncle was the last surviving canadian devil but has been gone years now. not sure if any of the american ones are left either? sorry to get off topic,for the record i remember and appreciate all who have died for us...

Ed Parker was almost a casualty of Pearl Harbor attack

Hi folks!
Mr. Parker once told of how he,as a child, saw the Japanese Zeros flying in & was almost struck and killed by a peice of shrapnel from the attack. Mr. Parker was also a model maker and specialized in making Airplanes from the WW2 period.
