What would you have done? Would your Kenpo skills have the same result? Would you have handled this the same way?

The honest answer should be I don't know until in that situation. Everything else is wishes and bravado.

We never know how things are going to go down. We just need to prepare properly. Some do. Some don't.

We must also have the right mindset. Some do. Some don't.

Rory Miller has a couple great books out there that are eye opening.

Mindset and realistic training is always key. Regrettably, the only ones that may know how they may react in a specific situation are the ones with a lot of real world experience. The ones with a lot of experience also know how easily things can go wrong.

if somebody saw this and offered him a decent job. He could actually use this "Hero" status to get out of the night shift at a convienence store. I mean IF that is what he wants.

As far as what really happened in terms of the attack and defense mechanics we will never know.
It is funny though that he was worried about the store. I understand because in a couple of fights I was trying to direct people away from fragile stuff. Funny how the mind works..

Yea that was funny. Me personally, I would have used that stuff to my advantage.

Back when I was a bouncer, I took two guys out at the same time by using a pool table. I grabbed them both by the throat and slammed them both into the pool table and the both ended up on top of it lying on their backs. It was actually pretty fun. Never had to strike them.

Of my five years as a bouncer I had to strike only three times, and we had 2-3 fights per weekend on average. The contact manipulation range of Kenpo was highly effective for me and most important for that job.

Lots of fun stories. wink.gif

Mike,
He submits the guy in an arm bar??? Then he gets away???

With that situation, I would have choked him out, no submit.
Been there, done it, numerous times in my life.
No knife, a few guns, H2H as a rule...

Regards,
Gary
