http://wardly.tumblr.com/post/147174939/the-abolitionist-approach-is-doing-nothing#disqus_thread

false dichotomy ward/babble. you are misrepresenting my position and ignoring the rest of the points, points that i honestly and courageously brought up for consideration.

call me what you will, let me make my position clear.

when i said "do nothing" it was indeed a metaphor for inaction and not seeking any higher justice, it was referring to wild-eyed complaints about welfarist reform, and the diffuse idea of not pushing for incremental changes. this is one thing i find troubling and absurd.

for me, doing nothing is not an option, the other side of the coin.

and others have said that the abolitionist creed and agenda at it's core is nothing but careless backbiting and all thunder no rain. i feel that is more or less an accurate description, but all AR activists and people are abolitionists at heart. sure we've all met the witless zombie drone "lifestyle" idiots who couldn't reason their way outta' a brown paper bag. but that is neither here nor there.
... to be honest i used to turn a cocked questioning eyebrow at some of Prof. Franciones statements, including that animal rights starts with veganism, now i know know this is absolutely true; and indeed i thought that the "veganism as a moral baseline" was just so much insubstantive rhetoric and tranparent academic wash, to me now it is the only thing that is remotely correct.

and Prof Francione is or was a very brave and courageous individual, indeed it was he who prosecuted early hi profile animal rights abuses/cases, the Silver Springs Monkey Case and the University of Pennsylvania baboon head injury case. he helped make the Animal Rights movement what it is today.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unnecessary_Fuss

as others have noted and it can be said; that i am an abolitionist at heart, it's hard to ignore the straightfoward reasoning and the sensible logical conclusions, but more to the point for anyone with a conscience, a lick of commonsense and the barest amount of compassion, it is impossible to ignore animal suffering, and to ignore its base causes and more importantly do nothing about it. but to openly fault PETA and bad-mouth certain PETA campaigns, when the real problem is unthinking, uncompassionate, dull-minded, lock-step system apologist and fastfood chomping witless jingoist zombie conformist drones, is silly, and reprehensible.

i also don't buy this "mixed message" line that abolitionist frequently invoke, to the benefit of no one. IMHO it is indeed the sign of apathetic indiffernce and child-like greed, the root of the problem in the first place for those that refuse to adopt even a vegetarian diet.

again, certain PETA and other AR type campaigns tend to be labelled as welfarist, usually by virtue of abolitionist rhetoic, while others can be and sometime are labelled abolitionist, is confusing, it's these types of arbitrary and crass distinction that i find troubling and ultimately extremely counter-productive.

uh huh.

but you have been censoring my posts. end of discussion.

really camille it saddens me that you actually buy into all of this moronic and illogical "castles in the sky" abolitionist pseudo-blather. it is only crass and careless pseudo-conjecture, with only one ultimate purpose in mind, to bash PETA, and split conquer and divide and fracture the AR movement as it stands today. and it is only made up of unrealistic generalizations and over the top pretended anger at its core. and it gives veganism and, make no mistake about it, real down to earth animal rights activism and ARA's a bad name.

rolls eyes*

seriously camille, i have a real life and i have better things to do. oh and BTW i live in the real world.

nothing you can do about that babe..

you playing the internet meds game doesnt surprise me one bit. but just once i would like to see you abolitionist anti-PETA folk defend your pretended abolitionist rhetoric and insanely unreasonable souped-up conjecture, with integrity and logic, that is, without all the arm-waving, hatred, requisite PETA bashing, circular illogic, arm-twisting and change a minute fuzzy logic definitions. of course. amazing.

i dont really buy into the imitation hopelessly contrived abolitionist dialectic, nor do i feel it is of any worth or consideration. i am a youtubist at heart myself, fell free to email me if you have any questions.

and editing out the link to my forum from my name is censorship, plain and simple. by definition.

we live in a surveillance society, only the result of our disappearing freedoms. and the dull ignorance, greed and arrogance of the all too easily confused sheeplistic masses.

you would probably lick franciones abolitionsist style "cajones" given the chance, not that it would mean anything.

this is how i read most if not all of your importunate and shamefull pseudo-blather...

ahem

let's hate upon PETA because we don't have any commensense or self integrity... because we feel much more comfortable in our delusional bubble-boy dreamworld. where greed and childish arrogance is a disease of the mind. guaranteed.

THAT just ain't right my friend. trust me. ROFL

per definition request: witless namby-pambyist PETA-bashing conformist crud is more or less pointing in the right direction. or insecure snake oil salesman. take your pick.

i feel ya' warwak, yeah i really do..

but alas my friend, those are just words, there is evidence to suggest that einstein never really adopted even a vegetarian diet, it appears it was more of a curiosity thing for him.

but those were truly different times, the rules have changed.. unfortunately apathetic indifference still is around. the mass media sees to it that this message is trumpeted loud and clear, so no one can miss it.

leather gloves, science, unmistakable bias... add it all up and you get a big truckload of unthinkably corrupt bias cleverly disguised as propaganda of course.

the beat goes on..

it's a shame that people can't speak what's on their mind.

i don't like stereo-types, but she does look rather like the living dead, a greedy zombie-like materialistic drone, one for whom compassion is a foreign concept, as is basic self-respect. and living in her sterile black and white world of success and failure; and of synthetic greed, there is no way out. her life and boundless spirit long ago drained by materialism, an inflated ego, greed, false hopes and false dreams. Ain't that a shame.

So I was being generous when I refered to Francione as a half-wit?

no, your remarks are spot on. Obviously jesus cowardly lion francione is a delusional, unobjective, self-righteous goon and DUMBYist sell out, an academic fraud. apparently he intends to doublethink his way through this debate, because he lacks honor and integrity and has no real position to defend.

one needs to question why jesus-francione himself feels the need to bring in his friend and witless assclown associate, as his own moderator, this is unreasonable and absurd. this uneven playing field is too much, and should be a cause for concern, yet illustrates precisely what is wrong with the vegan movement.

jesus-francione is obviously a gutless shill and a whiny fraud,

http://wardly.tumblr.com/post/147174939/the-abolitionist-approach-is-doing-nothing#comment-13201447

unwilling to engage in down to earth, courageous, realistic thought-provoking debate, he is unwilling or unable to courageously defend his ideas and address the issues.

yet he is allowed to;
1) introduce bias, and
2) bring in his own rules for the debate, and
3) bring in his own moderator.

totally absurd, totally pointless, totally counterproductive, the man is totally a fraud.

it is obvious that he intends only to bully, harass, cajole and intimidate his way through the debate, it is therefore extremely obvious that he has no real position to defend, his pretended honor is disgusting, his mindless drivel predictable, but not unusual for most dull-minded, mouthy and apathetic vegans.

it is evident that he never made it across the moral and ethical divide that drives most thoughtful, courageous, conscientious and compassionate vegans and aras.

he is a snake oil salesman of the highest calibre, seeking only to spread lies and misinformation. his shell game with the truth is shameful, disgusting, and an exercise in supreme idiocy, requisite DUMBYist apathy and sociopathic indifference. as clearly illustrated here propaganda is made up of words, half-truths and causes. mixed messages indeed. incredible.

ADVERTISING TECHNIQUES

AVANTE GARDE

The suggestion that using this product puts the user ahead of the times e.g. a toy manufacturer encourages kids to be the first on their block to have a new toy.

FACTS AND FIGURES

Statistics and objective factual information is used to prove the superiority of the product e.g. a car manufacturer quotes the amount of time it takes their car to get from 0 to 100 k.p.h.

WEASEL WORDS

Weasel words" are used to suggest a positive meaning without actually really making any guarantee e.g. a scientist says that a diet product might help you to lose weight the way it helped him to lose weight.

MAGIC INGREDIENTS

The suggestion that some almost miraculous discovery makes the product exceptionally effective e.g. a pharmaceutical manufacturer describes a special coating that makes their pain reliever less irritating to the stomach than a competitor`s.

PATRIOTISM

The suggestion that purchasing this product shows your love of your country e.g. a company brags about its product being made in America and employing American workers.

DIVERSION

Diversion seems to tackle a problem or issue, but then throws in an emotional non-sequitor or distraction. e.g. a tobacco company talks about health and smoking, but then shows a cowboy smoking a rugged cigarette after a long day of hard work.

TRANSFER

Words and ideas with positive connotations are used to suggest that the positive qualities should be associated with the product and the user e.g. a textile manufacturer wanting people to wear their product to stay cool during the summer shows people wearing fashions made from their cloth at a sunny seaside setting where there is a cool breeze.

PLAIN FOLKS

The suggestion that the product is a practical product of good value for ordinary people e.g. a cereal manufacturer shows an ordinary family sitting down to breakfast and enjoying their product.

SNOB APPEAL

The suggestion that the use of the product makes the customer part of an elite group with a luxurious and glamorous life style e.g. a coffee manufacturer shows people dressed in formal gowns and tuxedos drinking their brand at an art gallery.

BRIBERY

Bribery seems to give a desirable extra something. We humans tend to be greedy. e.g. Buy a burger; get free fries.

TESTIMONIAL

A famous personality is used to endorse the product e.g. a famous basketball player (Michael Jordan) recommends a particular brand of skates.

WIT AND HUMOR

Customers are attracted to products that divert the audience by giving viewers a reason to laugh or to be entertained by clever use of visuals or language.

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS

Avoid complexities, and attack many problems to one solutions. e.g. Buy this makeup and you will be attractive, popular, and happy.

CARD STACKING

The propaganda technique of Card-Stacking is so widespread that we may not always be aware of its presence in a commercial. Basically, Card-Stacking means stacking the cards in favor of the product; advertisers stress is positive qualities and ignore negative. For example, if a brand of snack food is loaded with sugar (and calories), the commercial may boast that the product is low in fat, which implies that it is also low in calories. Card-Stacking is such a prevalent rational propaganda technique that gives us only part of the picture.

GLITTERING GENERALITIES

The glittering generalities technique uses appealing words and images to sell the product. The message this commercial gives, through indirectly, is that if you buy the item, you will be using a wonderful product, and it will change your life. This cosmetic will make you look younger, this car will give you status, this magazine will make you a leader-all these commercials are using Glittering Generalities to enhance product appeal.

BANDWAGON

Bandwagon is a form of propaganda that exploits the desire of most people to join the crowd or be on the winning side, and avoid winding up the losing side. Few of us would want to wear nerdy cloths, smell differently from everyone else, or be unpopular.

The popularity of a product is important to many people. Even if most of us say we make out own choice when buying something we often choose well-advertised items- the popular ones. Advertising copywriters must be careful with the bandwagon propaganda technique because most of us see ourselves as individuals who think for themselves. If Bandwagon commercial is to obvious, viewers may reject the product outright.
