buffing compound with a power buffer. Most boat hulls are not painted, they are gell coat that's sprayed into the mold before the actual fiberglass. As long as it's not damaged (cracked, broken, gouged, etc) It will probably buff out. Paint won't stand up long to boat hull use either.
