Lately I've been thinking about buying a rifle just to play with. When I was a kid I always had a .22 and a 12ga. Had a model 94 3030 and several pistols. Used them all a lot. When I was in the AF I bought a Marlin model 60 and I impacted the jackrabbit population around the AF base in a bad way. I remember the model 60 was as reliable as any I've ever had. I don't remember it ever jamming or misfiring, not once.
My reason for wanting a firearm isn't for hunting or self defence. I just want one to play around with. Of course if you're talking plinking, you're talking rimfire. Center fire ammo is out of the question just for playing around.
I had a dammed good Remington semi auto for a lotta years, but that one has been outta production for 40 years. I'm thinking about another model 60. Any other suggestions? I don't want an expensive one. Just a plinker.
