This thread is to give you a chance to say "hi" and tell us a little about yourself.

Hi

October 24 2001, 2:15 PM

I'll start it all off. I live and teach in Kobe, Japan and I've been here for about 5 years now. I teach kids from 4 years old right through to high school.

I set up this discussion forum as there doesn't really seem to be a dedicated place where kids teachers can go and ask questions, get help, share ideas, etc (well, I can't find a site like this!). I hope this forum will grow into a useful site for all kids English teachers.

Hello, I'm Jen. I'm currently teaching kinder to middle school students in Incheon, South Korea. I love teaching this age group find teaching kinder students particularly rewarding, they constantly surprise, amaze and inspire me.

I'm lucky to have a great job at a great school (a private language institute) with a great employer. I am the only teacher for our small but growing kinder group which I teach for 2 hours each day. I have the freedom to teach how and what I choose, with good resources and a very supportive staff. For various reasons I'm moving on soon (although I'll most likely be back before too long) so if anyone out there is interested in my position, please don't hesitate to send me an email.

I found this page while looking for information on CELTYL - good one, Jeremy!

Hello everyone

August 31 2002, 1:22 PM

I'm Gaynor, used to teach adults in the British council Bahrain. I moved to belgium 4 years ago and taught adults freelance, now i have the chance to teach 7 year olds and to be honest I'm scared as it's not really my field, any help would be greatly appreciated. I write for the travel section for www.poetrybox.com and at the mo we are setting up a kids site to encourage kids to write stories and poetry. There will be a grammar gran where the kids can ask questions if they don't understand anything relating to grammar.
I'm so glad I fell onto this site. Good luck with it.
