Whoops.. sorry bout triple post (text):P

When I clicked the post button, it gave me a message about not being able to find the server or something like that.. so naturally, I tried clicking it again several times:P. Maybe this has something to do with HGK's problem..

One thing I don't like about this forum..

by (no login)

When you read a post, you can only see replies to that message, and not other sub-threads in the thread. Is there any way you can fix this Archer, or would that require a complete overhaul of the forum?

Asylum Nite is TONIGHT! FRIDAY

by (Login Archerous)
Forum Owner

Thanks to the grace of God, I don't have to work tonight! I'm going to be coming onto Myth: TFL via marius.net (goto http://mariusnet.clanplaid.net to get the new TFL server) around 23:00 to 23:30 GMT. Unfortunately, I'm firewalled, so someone better have a good host.

I hope everyone will come. The Nite should last quite a while, at least a few hours, so all Americans and mb some of the <pc-ness> Great Britainish </pc-ness> can join as the evening wanes.

So, for Asylum Nite, we're meeting
on marius.net of TFL
around 6:30 PM Eastern American Time, 23:00 GMT
in one of the most-filled rooms.

I hope to see everyone there!

It was extremely short notice, so no problem if you didn't make it (which was everyone but Zan for a few minutes). Ah well…anyone have ideas for another Asylum Nite? I get back from work tomorrow around 23:00 ET, which is 04:00, Sunday, GMT.

I mean that first I didn't bought it(I had no money), than, thanks to Archer, I bought it on ebay auction. I played it for 4 months and sold it on ebay. I dont know why I sold it, it was very boring playing every level 5 times a day. And when I bought Myth II, I just forgave about Myth TFL, Myth II multiplayer maps were better. And now I'm waiting Myth III, I dont think I will buy old Myth TFL.

by (no login)

You didn't like TFL? You sold it?! And I thought you were a die-hard fan.

I personally liked TFL much better. You got that sense of desperation, the struggle of survival in a war that lasted twenty years. Myth II seemed like you had this overwhelming force that was able to crush SB and his buddies in less than a year.

And besides, without TFL, there would be no Myth II or III. Ah, but maybe THIS discussion is better off in the Asylum, eh?

I'm just giving you a hard time, that's all.

Myth TFL was cool, but there weren't Heron Guards(only Journeymen), yeah Myth TFL story is cool and gameplay too, but units and levels in Myth II is better. MUCH BETTER. And now Myth II will be out, so I dont think if I will play Myth II more, I dont like old games.

Okay, Add your info here...

by (no login)

Archer has a good idea on charting us out. So here's my info.

I live in Phoenix, AZ
Arizona does not do Daylight Savings Time so:
October - April AZ is on PST and
April - October AZ is on MST so
right now we're on PST

My work schedule varies. I do display sales (This sucks, but it pays the bills until I can find something home-based). But I'm usually home in the late evening everyday. Wednesday I am always available after 8 P.M. my time (I take Wed. off for Enterprise, you know), and I always try to have Saturday Afternoon and Evenings off. Since I'm religious (::Gasp::"But Myth is so violent!" {It's my only vice}) I will not play on Sundays. If that keeps me out of some AN's, so be it. Don't let me stop you heathens

…or I might be holding a grudge against the Arizonans right now.

I watch Enterprise too! See, we couldn't talk about that at The Asylum, could we? Think they'll chance the theme song by season three?

Sundays get difficult to arrange anyway. I'm thinking now of starting Friday night for the Australians, and then the Irish, Welsh, Scottish, and English pick it up from there (Iron and LR, how late can you stay up?). It's not long from that when the Americans can join.

Gese…this is a full 24 hours . We may have to change it to "Asylum Marathon" or something…but then Sili would show up for sure, and start talking about the Phfor…(hehe. why didn't he join our order, anyway?). Mb…Asylum Day? Day of the Asylum? Orgy of the In… ::stops::

New idea

by (no login)

So, I(the only spaniard in inmates team I think) at GMT+1, the most of you guys, are americans, so at GMT-5 -8 and some guys, like Lord Raven(if I dont mistake) :), at GMT+10, ah and Britons( I dont think we have any britons in our team, right?) at GMT.

SO, it will be cool at saturdays at 10 pm GMT, for americans it will be 5-2 pm, for Ausies it will be 8 am( the only problems is with Ausies), but I think they could join us later.

Any ideas?

PS: thanks, Archer that you upload this film, now we have 1 film in our page

We're getting closer…

by (Login Archerous)
Forum Owner

We have at least two Britons that I can think of off the top of my head (tired as I am): Ghôlsbane and Welly (both Irish?).

5 PM ET is when I'm at work . If you can switch these times to Sunday, I could most definitely do it, and even start earlier, around 6 or 8 GMT.

I thought that the Ausies, rightfully, should start first (being in the region of the rising sun). HGK and the Britons would join in as soon as possible. From there, the Americans would finish the night with the Britons, the Britons eventually going to sleep.

Now, what day?

You're welcome, HGK . Also note the Seal of the Asylum at the top of the Film Archive:

I like how it looks indented in the middle because of the optical illusion…

In addition, nearly every page has a secret message on it. Have fun finding them .

Are the Ausies still ok with being called Ausies?

Ireland is a British Isle. Besides the incredibly great desire for Ireland not to become a part of Great Britain, the culture of the two are incredibly and irrevicably intertwined, so much so that no one in America wouldn't give it a second thought to call all of the British Isles "England" or its people "English."

I understand now why you didn't like "Britons", seeing as you don't consider yourselves a part of Britain…which, technically, is not true. Your nation is not a part of the United Kingdom, but it sure is a British country. Or am I completely wrong in that assessment?

Actually our culture is just as different as any other Western country is to the UK.
Calling us British is the worse as calling Australia (still part of the Commonwealth) Britain. And as Bad as calling America Britain. Since the majority of your population is made up of English Emigrants.

We have our own language, Music style instruments, Sports (Which New York has a team), food etc.

The "British" culture of which you speak is more of a Western Culture which every Western Developed Country has. However saying we have the Same culture as England is totaly wrong.

And if our Culture was identical to english culture do you think the Irish would spend 200 years non-stop fighting for freedom?

I know this isn't anything to do with Myth and I apoligise for posting here.
Also I hope i have not insulted the English in any way.
And that you don't think I'm an extreme republican.
I apoligise.

So what can we call you all?

by (Login Archerous)
Forum Owner

Actually, we have more people that immigrated from Ireland than England, for sure. I'm half Irish, for instance.

Calling you British is the same as calling a Canadian a North American, or calling someone from San Marino or The Vatican Italian.

Ok, since when do yo have your own language, music style, sports, and food?

Yes, I definitely think the Irish would spend 200 years fighting against any other power that tried to take it over. The Italian city-states warred for centuries over their tiny, little principalities, yet they all had a nearly identical background, especially in just the North. However, they still have rivalries, even today and don't feel united.

The only one who you need to be sorry to about posting this stuff is me, and I'm the one keeping this conversation going .

Our language (alright use of it was severely damaged after the Famine) is the oldest written language in Western Europe (I say western Europe because I'm excluding Rome and Greece).

Our Music is a traditional style.

Our Gaelic Games are played in a Major National League and Championship.

Actually the Majority of English Emigrants were during the 17 hundreds and Irish emiigrants the 18 hundreds. The English a much better head start.

Also I don't think your much of an authority on England, Ireland relations.

Just call us by the Time zone GMT.

Asylum Nite

by (Login Archerous)
Forum Owner

Firstly, in honor of the Asylumni and former Inmates clan, I don't think we should have "Asylum Night" as the title of our meetings. Changing "Night" to the more archaeic "Nite" (yes, it is a word) both honors the past and begins the future, for we are truly a new order, not exactly a continuation of an old one…a rebirth of the past clan, as much as a Heron is reborn anew into something better.

So, about Asylum Nite…when can we meet?

Not counting Daylight Savings Time, we have Ausies at GMT(Greenwich Mean Time)+10, Britons at GMT, and Americans at GMT-5 to -8…hrmm…
Ok, mb we can have the Ausies start it off at their 21:00, and then hand it over to the Britons as soon as it becomes late enough in GB. Then the Britons can hand over the torch to the Americans as they carry it out through the night. Naturally, anyone is welcome to stay longer or come earlier .

We'll have to put that into practice some time. Now, when CAN we put it into practice? What days (and times, GMT) do people have time to play? For instance, I can't play on Friday and Saturday until about 0:300 GMT (which is 10:00 PM ET). Any other time except during school and during work, I can play.

How about everyone else? I'll make a handy chart and put it on the site .

On Sunday midnight in Ireland the the Clocks go back an hour. So 23:59 turns to 23:00 on Sunday night. If the change occurs anywhere else we could use it to our advantage.

And any day is good for me over the following week (Mid-term break) up until one-ish GMT.

11:00 PM Eastern Time is 9:00 PM Mountain Time.

Most atlases, such as the 1996 Edition of the Nation Geographic Atlas, have a few pages with raw statistics about Earth at the very end before the index. In those pages, there should be a map of the world with all the timezones marked on it.
