BSA with JAP engine?

Hi, I am currently interested in a BSA 350 equipped with JAP engine. I could not see the motorcycle because the owner keeps it disassembled into a box (!), just the way he purchased it last year. He never managed to reassemble it, and now he badly needs money so he asked me for a bid. He sent me a copy of the registration document, I post here the main issues: Producer: BSA - Engine: JAP 346 cc - Weight: 150 Kg - HP: 4,02. The motorcycle was registered in Italy (where I live) in 1937. I never heard of a BSA powered by a JAP engine, but I might be wrong. What's your opinion? What if I started with a 5000 euro bid (he says that the motorcycle is really really ok), provided -of course - that it really is a BSA? Thanks a lot for your help.
