xv535 and i love the bike, however i`ve not ridden it much. every month or so i charge the battery. the first battery would charge but when i stopped after a ride i could not start bike again so i thought maybe battery is dying... i bought a new battery and sure enough after charging overnight, the bike roars into life. now 3 months later the battery seems fully charged (left off the bike for a week) but when i try to start it all i can hear is tick tick tick etc. i have seen some comments about the worst ever starter motor in the world ever for viragos i`m just wondering if mine is suspect?

Hi,

Certainly sounds like the starter motor if you are getting a "clicking" sound. With regards to you battery, there are products on the market that when you are storeing your bike you can hook the battery up to a trickle charger. This should solve your starting problem after storage. As for the starter motor it can be solved with a slight modification, details are on the web.

Hope this helps.
