"Chips"
I read you letter today re the Hoo party and by the sound of things everyone had a great time apart from the ride home, but hey the english weather has a mind of it's own as we all know.
As I read your letter I came accross the following and I quote: "To every one who pitched in big or small it all helped, and to the minority who didn't well that wasn't a suprise"
Now being one of the ones who didn't help I would like to just remind you that without the people that that comment applies to we STILL pay our joining fee's along with membership fee's every year and just because we may have other commitments like young families ect there is no need to take a cheap swipe because they could not get there or help the smooth running of the day!
I'm sure that the accounts look healthier with our fee's in your account and you would not be able to do as much as you do without their support ie their membership fee's.
So, please enjoy your times together and when people like myslf can join in we shall and will keep paying our fee's, but as for taking cheap swipes try and keep those for the playground... as you may find that those none attendents may take offence and decide not to pay their fee's and join another club.
Gary.

As an active member of the VSOC XV I take offence at the suggestion in your letter that you pay for me to enjoy myself at centre xv functions eg the Hoo party and posibly the January disco with your membership fee. Obviously you do not know were your membership fee goes.It goes directly to the main VSOC body to pay to-wards your clatter magazine and setting up rallies NOT parties. Centre xv does not recieve a penny of it that is why quite a few members donate £5 each year to help to-wards postage so that members who are not on e-mail still get the minutes of the meetings sent to them even though a lot of the members who donate are on e-mail.
The funds in centre xv's account are made up of profits from raffles that are held at funtions throughout the year (which active members donate free) and the sales on our merchandising.
The Hoo party was only possible because quite a few members pulled in a lot of favours, donated and loaned equipment and time not only on the day but also in the months leading up to the party. Quite a few of the jobs that needed doing were small but still important and could be carried out at home as a few of the members did because they could not attend the party meetings.
I know there are members who cannot always give up there time because of family or work commitments but an e-mail or telephone call to the committee stating this would not go amiss so the rest of the members know you are still out there.

Ron,
Fair point, however my point was not that other members are free loading on other peoples membership fee's but what the comment was directed about. If this comment was aimed at those people then no probs, but that was not explained within the mail that was posted. I'm sure that there are other things to argue about, like the price of biscuts have you seem how expencive they are?
