| Any other comments on their camp this weekend.
Very little to pick from when the staff and management out number the participants.

i don't understand why anyone would pay $$ to go to a Jr.C camp. Jr.C teams are very restricted in who they can sign so if you're good enough they will be knocking on your door to play. |

I have no issues with paying $40. - $50. for a Jr.C camp. Cover the cost of ice and maybe make a little profit. My kids were getting forms from Jr. A camps and we are talking upwards of $200., or more. The reality is, most Jr. A teams pretty much know who they want and it is all about getting as many kids at $200. 99% of these kids have no chance. Kids see these letters and get a sense they were being looked at and in fact their names were just picked up from various team sites. So if you played Jr. C, you will have most likely got a letter from a Jr. A team. |

That is why if you are a 16 year old, unless the team approaches you personally stay away and save your money. Junior A teams can have 2, and Junior C one. The only benefit to paying the money is to show what you might be able to do for your 17 year old year. Then you go back to midget and work on your game.
Kids have to remember, the road to your goals are not always a straight one, parents have understand just because your kid might have to play midget an extra year. Your kid will still have 4 years of junior, 5 if they Junior C.
With the contraction of the Junior A league, Junior C will be the benefit with a better level of hockey. This has already started in the last couple of years. Players will be scouted by ACHA D1(whose top teams are equivalent to NCAA D3's) and NCAA D3 schools, so it is important that the kid keeps up with their academic marks. It is also important you chose a school that will fit your kids academic goals. Remember NCAA D3 do not give athletic scholarships, only D1 and D2 schools give them and they only have 18 to give.
Final advice, go to these camps, show your best, but don't be discouraged if you have to play an extra year of midget, work hard on your game and marks. |

I have heard that 2 skaters, and a goalie were 15 and major bantam age.
This team is heading down the proverbial drain !!! |
