a big heidi-ho to everyone!
I've finished my adventures for the year and am ready to do some work. Special hello to Alyson - welcome to the board. I haven't read every post yet - you guys write soooooo much stuff and my computer is soooo slow, but I'm catching up as we speak.
I'm glad Kat's getting better Timna, and good on you for looking to the RSPCA for a cat. I had to spend two weeks at the Rockhampton city pound for work experience for uni and at times ( like euthanasia day) it was so depressing. So many animals were put down - 40 a week and that was before christmas. I agree with you Louise, people need a licence to own a pet, desexed or not. But then I suppose, no one gets a licence to have children do they?
Off the depressing stuff, just to make you all jealous, there hasn't been a day in the last four weeks when I haven't been to the beach or swimming in a lake - how hot is it. We had 42 for christmas day at home.
I saw lotr and am absolutely amazed. And if anyone says they don't like it I'm just sticking my fingers in my ears and humming. I'm going again and again.
It inspired me, I want my book to be as good as Tolkien's, it has to be or it's not going anywhere. Okay, no one is allowed to tell me this is not a balanced attitude to have, because I have heard it all before and am too stubborn to change

However I will accept any admonishments ( is that a real word?) for not having attempted to do anything for my novel since I emailed Louise before Xmas. So you all have my permission to bug me into doing some work, because I am extremely lazy and the world's best procrastinator.
Deb, great to see you're still going with all the smilies, and you've got your own desk - very cool indeed.
Sorry about the post, I just had a mars bar and I'm so excited to be back with you all
