Hi Laura. Nice to finally meet you and say hi. I've been briefly reading the posts while I was away, but I'm in catch up mode today.
Well done on getting into Tafe. When I was in year 12 I decided I didn't want to go to Uni and be stuck studying for 4 years as I really had no idea what direction I wanted to head in. So I did a computer course at Tafe and I'm now doing IT - have been in my current job for almost 2 years.
It's not my passion, but it pays well, and I like it well enough til I work out where I really want to head. I might stick in this company awhile longer - try and train up to get a promotion this year if I can. There's talk of outsourcing our division, or even redundancies, but I'm not even worrying til it's decided. Worst to happen, I'd get a payout and look for another job.
Anyways, off the track! But I wanted to say that Tafe is great for getting you trained into a job you want, and on-the-job training is often sooo much more practical than Uni. You could always think about doing Uni in a few years if you really want to - and get your employer to pay for it!
