sleep walking???

I had the most bizarre experience the other day and had to tell someone... I was up getting ready for uni, and had been awake for about 40mins when I'm convinced I heard my next door neighbour screaming - really screaming - out my name, repeatedly. Now I went outside thinking someone was having a cardiac arrest or their dog was dying or something and they were all still asleep, house completely locked and shuttered. My brother who would have been just waking up then didn't hear a thing, but to me the sound was loud enough to have woken even a deep sleeper from rest. It's really starting to bother me. Any ideas anyone????

Helen, no wonder no one has replied to this - it's really bizzare. You're not taking any happy pills to keep you awake at Uni are you? (joking, I promise). I have no idea. That sort of experience would seriously freak me out. I have enough trouble keeping a hold on reality as it is without that happening.

Did you speak to your neighbours later to ask if one of them might have been screaming in their sleep and not remembered?

Yeah, maybe one of your neighbours was screaming in their sleep. Dont be worried that no one else heard it, my house faces the Hume highway,(a major highway linking sydney and Melbourne) and one night an oil tanker rolled over and crashed right out front of our place. My brother and I SLEPT THROUGH IT!!! My parents awoke of course, and had to come and drag us out of bed to get evacuated, but that's another story.

Another theory is, maybe you had a psychic dream or something?????
(shrugs)
Or, you had a premonition?????

No ideas, sorry! Is everything okay with your neighbour? I woke up the other night (kind of still half asleep but roused) and then my poor hubby started shouting and yelling in his sleep and he never talks (I'm the sleep chatter in the family). It was like I could feel the tension emanating from him and woke up ready to get him out of his horrid dream.

Otherwise I too sleep through alot! Slept through an earthquake in San Francisco once. The rest of my travelling party woke up and gathered downstairs in the hotel but no one thought to wake me just in case!!!

Well it could be just that, a sleep talking neighbour. Im a sleep walker, or i use to be as a kid. I would do strange things like take my bed sheets and donna, put them in the bath tub, and go back to bed and when i wake up freezing, it wouldnt occur to me to go and get some new blankets, so would freeze all night long.
My point is, people do strange things in their sleep, so i wouldnt be surprised if your neighbour was the same.

I checked with the neighbour and no, there are no sleep screamers in their house. I've resolved that's its one of those moments when you walk into a parallel dimension or to the future, at least that's the latest theory ( ok not really, there's no theory) but I guess I'll never really know
life is a mystery....
