I've posted the cover of book two on the Diary section of my website if you want a sneak peek. It's just the painting at this stage - we don't have the titles printed on yet. But I thought you might be curious.

P.S. it's http://www.louisecusack.com then click on "Diary".

It's very powerful Lou!!! The first cover was so pastoral and magical with its greens an blues then this one is so menacing and ferocious! Yum!

I love the cute creature at the top. Makes me want to pinch his cheek "Coochy coochy coo!" Can't you imagine him purring back as he sleeps by the open hearth. Aah...

Is it the same artist? Have they read the book or did your publisher just give them ideas?

What can I say!!!

Just had a look at the cover for book two, Louise and I think it is striking!!!
It will jump off the shelves as people browse. You couldn't ask for a better cover. I think just by looking at the picture you get a feel about the story secreted between the covers!!!
Brilliant! And Alyson asked, is it the same artist who painted, Destiny?

Same artist guys. Hard to believe, isn't it. Destiny was such a dreamy cover and this one just jumps out and grabs you by the throat. Perhaps my publishers thought the first one was too subtle. Let's face it, there are so many striking colours in the fantasy section.

In any case, I have a feeling this one will stand out Funny how getting the cover art seems to make it more real. Working with page proofs still feels a little like I'm just working with myself, honing the story. But seeing the artist's input and then when I hold my advance copy in my hand, that's when it all starts feel real. The best part, though, is seeing it sitting on the book shelf. So when you see it there for the first time, just imagine if it was your book. I'll bet you get goosebumps too.

Delayed gratification - I love it. Okay, Fi, we'll just keep it to ourselves for now.

And thanks, Nancy. 'Striking' is the word that keeps coming into my head too. The best thing for me is that it really reflects what's inside, and that's pretty important. I hate buying a book thinking it'll be one thing and then being disappointed when it's something else altogether. No chance of that here
