Guess Who's Coming To Brisbane?

May 1 2002 at 8:14 PM

Me!!!! From 15 June to 21 June. Though I am specifically coming up to get my wisdom teeth out (ouch!) - my Dad is a Dentist and I would rather pay for the flight up there to see him than pay for a Dentist here to do the job. Ick!

So I will be sitting in bed sulking, begging for icecream, looking like a bruised chipmunk for the first few days but if anybody would like a cuppa on the Thursday or Friday that would be groovy. Otherwise I will chat to you guys on the Sunday like normal and simply feel closer to the Project Muse home planet.

Al

(Are you having a launch for book 2 Louise?)

that's the jackpot week

Alyson, the fifteenth of June is the day book two is due hits the shops although it may not be on the shelves until the Monday or Tuesday. Anyway, if I am having a book launch (still working on that) it will early in the week that you're up. I hope you can come out with chipmunk cheeks?

If there's no launch, I think we should get together anyway for a project muse celebration.

Will let you guys know more about the launch, but that's great news Alyson. Looking forward to it (although I'll bet you're not - wisdom teeth - ouch)

Freaky timing!

How amazing that is the week your book is due out! The universe aligns for us. I picked that week so that my hubby would not miss any football games yet it works out on so many levels.

Let me know how you guys are faring for that week and chipmunk cheeks or no chipmunk cheeks I will be up for coffee and cake. This time I am not letting my crazy Mum book me out like last time. I did not have a minute spare and it was exhausting! She's already trying to slot in days at Harbourtown and visits to Coolum.

Well I am sure that the Universe is lining up for a reason. I bet we can all make it. I know I'll try my best to get there.

I wouldn't mind if my mum took me to Harbourtown and Coolum. Sounds like fun.

My mum takes me to the Wynnum foreshore (which is a lot of fun actually).

And it is a funny coincidence about that week, Alyson, most particularly because the day I read your message I was having a bit of a low energy day trying to decide how much enthusiasm I had to throw into organising a book launch. It tipped me towards thinking that, yeah, I did want to celebrate book two no matter how much work was involved. Now I just need to see if everything else necessary for a launch lines up. Fingers crossed.

Your champagne signing sounds gorgeous Lou! I'll be flying home the day before so won't be able to make it but am still available any day that week before so if anyone wants a ymmu coffee and a delish sticket date pudding I'll be there!

Sticket dates???

May 16 2002, 10:43 AM

MMMM! Sounds good to me, ALyson. Though I've never tasted "ymmu coffee and a delish sticket date pudding"!!!! Are they anything like yummy coffee and stickey date pudding or am I in for a new taste sensation! HEEE!

I am hoping that every thing works out right, so I can come to your champagne book launch, Louise. Sounds great!

dates

May 16 2002, 11:46 AM

So sorry you're flying back the day before Alyson. It would have been great if you could have come and I know you told me earlier what dates you would be here, but I had to fit in with when the book came out and what day suits most people (Saturday) and try to make it as close to the time the book hits the shelves otherwise everyone will already have a copy and I don't think Ron (from Pulp Fiction) will be too pleased if people bring a book in to have it signed. He wants to sell them!

But yes, let's have a Project Muse Meeting while you're up and get some serious coffee&cake stuff happening. Deb, is Garden City good for you again? Helen lives near me I think so Garden City is close for her if she can come, but during the day she'll be at uni. A weekend? Maybe the weekend before the book signing?

I know, let's chat about it on Sunday night.

Deb, 'ymmu coffee and sticket date pudding'is in fact nothing like yummy coffee and stickey date pudding.

Of course you had to pick a good date for you book signing Lou! It's freaky enough that I am coming to Brissy that week anyway! You'll just have to have a glass for me.

And we can chat about Brissy coffee on Sunday. I am getting my wisdom teeth out on Saturday a week before the launch so that weekend will be out for me. Only weekday good. But again - if we can't find a day that's okay.
