The Best News

To add to the "About Friggin' Time" files, I'd like to state publicly that after much dallying with muddy glasses and a couple of false finishes, I have finally typed the two most magical words in the literary kingdom: The End.

(or the ebd as Deb says)

SO my mermaid story is complete and I couldn't be more relieved, happy, excited, sad to let it go, enthusiastic about editing, or generally hyped up than I am right now.

If there's any satisfaction to be had out of writing at all, it's in this moment, when the story you've been dreaming about, visualising constantly and stressing over daily, wraps itself up beautifully and lands at The End.

Bliss really.

And if there was any way to design drugs, I'd want one that makes me feel just like this twenty-four hours a day (although then I'd probably be smiling so much I'd never get anything done!)

Louise,

WOO and may I add a HUGE HOO!!! Congratulations and Well Done.

Can't wait til I can experience that euphoric high.

Been worth the wait I'm sure and will have all fallen into place doing so.

Actually seeing how you've gone doing this one makes me feel a little more erm, secure (my word choice of late is down the drain), in my lack of getting there.

As always you've given me hope there is light and it can be euphoric (rather than a predictably proverbial train).

BRAVO!

Nicky

Louise, that is just brillant. You've been working on that story for awhile now huh! So much of a reward that two words. I love em, but admit i've only written them only twice. These holidays i may get to write them at least two more times, with two half written stories.
LIve on the high as much as you can.

Monday morning and I'm still on that high while I prepare to start editing. I've been gazing at my printed out manuscript all weekend, every time I walked past the desk, almost as if it was a lover I was waiting to fall into bed with on Monday morning when the kids go to school! Excited, nervous, hoping it lives up to my expectations , hoping I can live up to my own expectations, wishing I didn't have any expectations so I couldn't be disappointed. So many tumultuous feelings, but predominately a deep and quiet soul satisfaction that I'm achieving what I'm on the planet for. Guys, no matter what you have to go through to get to 'The End', this feeling makes it all worth while.

So proud of you, Lou. I know it's been a slog at times. Those cursed muddy glasses! Hope the edits go well. Detatched and methodical.... that's the ticket.

As soon as I saw "The Best News" I was so excited for you Louise! I'm so glad your mermaid tale is finished! (Because I want to read it!!!)

I just experienced a little bit of that high reading your message - thanks for the boost...it will carry me through to the end of exams when I can dust off my notebooks and make a tale out of them.

SO thrilled for you!
(And the comment on "the ebd" has given me the biggest smile of the day!)

I am smiling as I sit here Lou!!! Congrats on sending away your Mermaid tale. I remember the day I first met you five years ago and we both had an affinity for 'The Little Mermaid'. And here you are! All done!!!

Super duper congrats, now get out that beautiful red pen and make her even more beautiful and naughty and fabulous!
