I've been doing a little research since my incounter last week and I found there have been sightings in and around the area of Bear Creek(on the Mississippi-Alabama line) for several years including a sighting going back as far as the 1880's. My wife and I have returned to the site of our sighting and taken a few pictures of the area. We are seriously thinking about doing some information gathering of our own. BTW my sighting will be published soon on the B.F.R.O. website soon. The investigator I reported it to is very interested in any information anyone might have in north Ms. Seems there are more sightings here than one would imagine. I've got some links one the Bear Creek area sightings. I'm not sure if anyone has made the connections on these sighting all being in the same area.

Bear Creek was less than a mile from where my sighting was. Bear creek lake is farther upstream maybe 25 miles from where I was.

This had to be no more than 20 miles away being that Tishomingo county is on Colbert County's western border.

This could not have been more than 10 miles from where I was. Buzzard roost creek crosses the natchez trace about 10 miles from where i was.

I think this report is also on the BFRO site. I'm not sure where this guy is exactly but bear creek empties into the Tennessee River.
I'll keep you updated on any more information I find also if you are ever on the Natchez Trace Parkway my sighting was about 50 yards north of mile marker 307.
