Sportcraft Dragster Running Saturday 9/27

Kell Komatsubara's and Tom Brown's Top Alcohol Rail Dragster will be competing this Saturday night 9/27 in the Pro Gas event at Hawaii Raceway Park.

Go down to see the race debut of this 1000+ hp vehicle, running 75 lbs. of boost.

Kell anticipates making their first pass at around 6 - 7 pm.

It's 2700hp at the flywheel, and YES, it makes about 75lbs of boost at 8500rpm.
Just for some numbers...

3 speed Lenco transmission (1.74, 1.30, 1.00)
4.10 Rear end gearing
8 gallons of alcohol fuel per run
10.7" clutch discs (3 of them)
16 quarts of oil every run
17"x36" on 15" rim rear tires
19.73 gallon per minute fuel pump (Waterman Fuel Pump)
275" wheelbase chassis by SportCraft race cars
526 cu. in. Alan Johnson billet cyl. heads

and don't ask how much we spent...
...I lost track of that last year, when it went past $30,000

The Day After Damage Report.

$4500 One block (Windowed the #7 cylinder side of the block)
$1700 Two pistons, two rods(including the one that did all this damage, but should just be changes as a set)
$450 Oil Pan
$2700 Crankshaft
$120 Blower studs (When the rod let go, it backfired and lifted the blower off the manifold)
$90 #7 Intake Rocker Arm (broke)
$215 Titanium Intake and Exhaust valve (Damaged when piston hit valves, breaking off valve)
$650 Repair to Billet heads (from valve breaking off)
$235 Camshaft (Hit by breaking connecting rod)
and who knows what else, after I take it all apart.

Damage to Tom and I drag racing ego...
...priceless.
Well, we'll be back soon!
I got another block and parts coming!

Looks like it took out the rear end gear as well...
Well, I wanted to change gearing anyways.
$550 for another gear set! CHA-CHING!
