Howdy! I've been pay attention to the drift session team for about a year now. I Noticed celica, corrola and the sprinter.
I was wondering which car would be best to learn how to drift. I drive an 85 celica now (330k kms in great condition), but before i put a lot of money into it, i wanted to know if it would be worth it or should i put my money into a corrola or sprinter?
Thanx in advance!

well stock...those cars arent all that great. They can drift okay in the rain...but on dry ground forget about it. 105hp@5k is pretty weak. Especially in a 3,000 pound car. If your gonna keep your celica I suggest either one swapping in a LC enginering crate motor. Some of those have about 200hp N/A and you can even add turbo and what not to them for even more power. Or you could probably sway a 1JZ motor up in there. That would help. Theres atcually an okay amoutn of suspensino for your vehicle. Sway bars, camber/caster plates, ground control coil overs, strut tower bars, etc. If you tune it right...I think it could be a good drift car.

I know the celica is the heavier then the corrola and sprinter. I believe it's 2750lbs. I've been doing a little bit of drifting, It's hard finding good roads in calgary, canada (too far from mountians). I was just wondering which of the 3 cars is best to learn in!
Right now i've added a K&N cold air intake (+15hp). and If it turns out that someone tells me that my car is good to learn in, then i was goign to add a completely new exhaust (doug thorly header, 2.25" main pipe, and flowmax muffler with resonater (+80-90hp)) that'll give me WAY more then I need.
--> should I save my money and find a lighter corrola/sprinter as a beginer drifting car????? <--

Hey man I'm not trying to be an ******* and all...but uhhhh.....an intake aint gonna add 15hp to that car. Maybe 5-9 at max. And the header and exhaust aint gonna add no 80-90hp. Trust me I've owned a 84 Celica GTS and my friend has owned two celicas. one of which he still has. His car has a performance crate motor in it. Which has a cam, headers, intake, exhaust, etc. And his motor is only pushing about 175hp. And your telling me your stock motor with only header, intake, and exhuast is gonna push 210hp!? Wow your cars already stronger then a SR20DET. I used to use that celica to drift around with for fun and trust me it dont got no power. So unless you work the motor internally atleast somewhat then I suggest swapping motors.

So if you dont wanna spend money...I suggest getting a hachi. It'll be cheaper considering its alot lighter and has more hp then the celica does.

Thats just what i've heard as far as numbers go! I know that power isn't everythign in drifting but it does help. My stock celica can still drift but not for long! The Drift techniques just have to be more exagerated! As for now i've stopped b/c my rear lower control arm has taken some damage. once i get my pay cheque i'll be replacing them and playing again. Untill i find myself a sprinter that i like! U got a link on hachi roku's with specs and background? I've got my older brother into drifting so were putting our money together to get some work done. He says he'd rather have the celica, but i just find it to heavy!

sorry if I came off as an *******...just those numbers are way way off. But anyways you might wanna try check out Club4ag.com for some info on the hachi. As for the celica yes its way to heavy for its power level. If it had maybe atleast 180hp then it wouldnt be to bad. I mean my car weights about 3,400lbs O_o but then my motor has over 300lbs of torque...
