I guess being tactful doesn't mean a thing. I'm just going to have to come out and say it. Whenever I met the drummer in the chat room the other night he was being a complete jerk to everybody, and he kept advertising Zeal to everyone. I thought he was a really irritating guy. I didn't even know you guys were a Christian band. I didn't even know that Drummer_4_ZEAL was a Christian. Well, I wanted to see why he was talking Zeal up so much, so I did. He kept saying it was college rock type sound. It sounded like a bad impression of Jars of Clay doing an impression of Alice in Chains. The college rock sound is Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, Wilco and the like. Do these guys even know who those bands are?! I highly doubt it. I'm sorry I was so analytical. I'm a musician, I play music, I listen to music, I analyze MUSIC! I know what the words say. I've heard them a thousand times. I'm happy they're playing music for Jesus. I love Jesus. I am just sick and tired of COOKIE-CUTTER bands. I want something original. Is that too much to ask for? I guess it is in Christian music. There have only been a few Christian bands that really impress me: Roadside Monument, Blenderhead, Delirious, Royal, Rock and Roll Worship Circus, Grits, and Starflyer 59. If you want good, challenging words listen to Keith Green. His words will change your life forever.
"Many will say...'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will say, 'I never knew you. Away from me evildoers!'"---Matt. 7:22

Since I haven't seen any of the guys respond to your nonsense, I figured I might as well.
Listen, I like these guys too, and obviously your still hung up on the way they sounded 4-5 YEARS AGO. heheeh
Zeal really has a unique sound. I'm sure if you listen to the new album, when it comes out, you would think so too. As long as it follows suit with their live shows.
Being in a semi-popular band myslef, I have a hard time believing your a musician, unless it it a professional kareoke singer. IF you were, you'd know how much time and effort goes into playing and you wouldnt be "bad-mouthing" this band that you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!
You really need to go to a show dude, but I'm sure your comfy at the local kareoke bar, with your cool voice effects.
By the way, what was the deal with that passage? You act as if zeal isn't in God's will. . .

I don't know, but I think you may have missed the point of the response to you by JamesSP. When I read it I thought that the point was that it was inappropriate to say those kinds of things in a public posting--not to be mean, but to try to help you see that your statements were not used for edification.
I met a couple of zeal's members when I saw them play a couple years ago, and I can assure you that the ones that I met were absolutely devoted to Christ. I don't know anything about the drummer--I think they had a different one when I saw them.
The point here is that you weren't being that tactful in your first post. It doesn't look like you really know anything about the band as a whole, so why be so mean in a public post.
I am a Christian, and I assume that you are from your statements. But that's what's wrong with the church today...instead of uplifting each other, we pick out everyone's faults and differences and put on a holier than thou mask. Why don't you guys just end this thing by accepting the fact that zeal is not for you, so listen to who you like. There's no reason to tear each other down. We are to be examples to the world. We don't all have the same opinions, but Christ instructs us to move on from that and love each other despite our differences.
Besides, God will give zeal their own audience to minister to. They're doing a good thing here. So don't be so negative just because you have a personality conflict.

Okay, ive never heard this band, nor do i like christian music(much)even though i am one, just why would you want to fuss with people who dont like you? oh yeah, if youve never herd the band, how ya going to diss it? i talked to the drummer a while ago and he seemed pretty cool. you might also have seen my message, i was "Brittnay" in that one. I guess i dont know what i m trying to say, just that that whole replying thing was stupid and stop fussing about little things? Later
