I heard the news on the 24th, martin and paulo told me he'd died of a heart attack. i am very saddened by this, I love the wonderful music he made with The Clash and it was great that he was making music again with the Mescalaroes. Joe Strummer was definitely one of my musical heroes. If anybody wants to borrow my copy of 'Last gang in town - The story and myth of The Clash' they can, just gimme a email. Joe was great. We played a gig (HAIL HAIL HAIL) at the globe on christmas eve. At the end of our set I told the audience that he'd died and that he made great music. I dont know if it got through to anyone. I hope he died peacefully. Goodbye Joe.
