Found this site 2day...pretty cool..good to see some work in W/A. Listen..i'm an old skin..been one for 19 years..originally from the east..living in the west now.I'm non political, just an original oi! boy. Where can I catch up with some of the old crew? where have all the boot boys gone??

You see....i'm 34 now, was part of the scene since I was 15 in the east, when things were fuckin' hardcore..treasury hotel on a fri: night, shoulder to shoulder..300 strong, it was quite a time. A lot of my old crew members settled down with family..much like myself..a lot passed away or were incaserated, but thats life. I still wear my boots at times..mainly my brouge shoes, but still sporting my shermans and perrys with pride. I went through the hard knocks and when you earned your colours, it did'nt matter if you chose to wear nikes.
once you decide to tattoo yourself from neck to fingers about your way of life....thats how you remain.I was proud of being a working class skinhead....and today still am.
So....i'm just looking for places to reassociate myself with the family again. When I noticed this was a ska site..I thought there may have been pubs or clubs in perth where ppl meet?? If theres not...maybe it's time to call a place of our own.
It does'nt need to be voilent like it was in the early 80's..a place where traditional ska and oi boys can meet...bcause from our roots, mods,rudeboys and skins are all the same. What do you guys say?? lets kick it of!!

i notice a few around the place on the odd occasion.
but there tend to be a lot of the older crowd down at special brew gigs.
these guys have just reformed and they're going to be playing some shows really really soon.

i definately think there needs to be some presence of ska/oi roots happening. i play 3rd wave ska and reggae cos thats whats relevant to my life but id like to say ive got respect for the clasics. special brew is the only band i know of that are cranking the older two-tone stuff! hopefully/maybe some new bands come up soon, certainly u would expect that if theres an audience more bands will crank more tunes!!

I just got back from malaysia on monday night. Spent 9 days in kuala lumpa..Now this is a south east asian country. I met some of the local skins there..and i tell you theres fuckin heaps there..these guys have got a scene. I befriended the lead singer to a local outfit A.C.A.B...good guys..good hardcore skinhead band who supported the business there last year..i mean these wanna be's do know who the business are don't they..only the godfather's of oi!
we swapped a few items...some of my original fred perry shirts ..which are hard for these guys to get....for their c.d's...good trade.
Anyway..maybe if these clowns have the guts to leave their neighborhood..they may develop their own individuality.
