J> Your Genesis passage points to the glorious coming of our Saviour , Lord Jesus Christ .

N> Yes I can see that >>BUT<< it also shows the provision for those that act in faith does it not?

      Gen 22:7-8
7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?" "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
8 Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son."
And the two of them went on together. (NIV)

J> 31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

N> I'm not disputing Rahab's salvation Julie, I'm questioning her deception to those who asking about the spies.

N> J> This is why (EVEN THOUGH IT IS SIN)
there IS A TIME when an abortion may
      be the best choice.

      Not of God , Nucc.

We know it is a choice , but not that of the Lord.

N> Was Rahab's choice to deceive OF THE LORD? Are you seeing my point yet Julie? It seems you are saying abortion is not of God (which I can agree) but then it appears you are saying SIN (Rahab's deception) IS OK for God's HIGHER PURPOSE.

What does God tell us about lying and deceiving?

      Lev 19:11-12
11 "'Do not steal. "'Do not lie. "'Do not deceive one another.
12 "'Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD. (NIV)

I think there are many decisions in life that are very tough and some seem to contradict glorifying God. My personal belief is that when a mother is in a situation such as I've presented with her life being in danger, it is THEN that her decision is between HER and God, but with the stipulation that she has true moral understanding of the consequences and that her decision MUST BE IN FAITH with NO SELFISH INTENT. Even though we as Christians may grieviously abhor such a decision to abort I'm not sure we can put ourselves in a place to condemn her decision not being in her place. Something to think about anyway.

      Love to you too Julie.
