*MEMORY OF THE BEAUTY CONTEST
Anita reveals that the year she decided to join the Beauty Contest, both her father and her brother disagreed while her mother and her sister supported her so zealously.Even her boss(he's the master of the shop which she had part-time job during the summer vacation) also encouraged her in try it.Anita now still remembers what he said:"If you want to join it,just do,in case you do not succeed,you're still welcomed to get back here and continue your work"
During the final,Anita just thought that it would be so great if she got the 2nd prize.But the result was really out of her imagination, she won the 1st prize and became Miss HK at the age of 18.
*FROM SURPRISE TO ANOTHER SURPRISE
Anita always considers the 1st prize she got at the Beauty Contest as the greatest event in her life.But she just considers the 1st movie award she got as a surprise gift.
Talking about that period, Anita thoughtfully says:"Glory and favourable conditions came so early that I had no time to rate myself and I early got self-satisfaction.I then thought that I have the right to set conditions to directors.That period,if someone said that acting is a very dependent job,I would deny at once."
Joining the Beauty Contest, Anita just dreamt of the 2nd prize but she won the 1st prize.At the beginning of her acting career,she just hoped to start from supporting roles but she got main roles,then continously won movie awards.It seems that luckiness supported her zealously,kept giving her lots of surprises.[argh!my God!this part sounds so weird but I cannot find any other way to express at the moment.Sori!]
Easy success made her proud,she didn't know to respect what she got...
*STUBBORNESS-THE BEST POINT AND ALSO THE WORST POINT OF ANITA
Anita reveals that during recent years,her personality has changed a lot.She's no longer too stubborn.Anita admits that she was a hot-tempered and bull-headed person.Once she decided to do something,nobody could stop her.
But anyway,she's an actress, no matter how good she could be, she had to obey any decision of director.However, Anita still dared to break this rule. She made famous director Daniel Lee angry during the time filming "Till death do us part"(in 1998)
The movie gave her 1 nominee for "Best actress" at HKFAA.But right after this movie, Anita was ostracised by many directors,her career,hence,took a very bad turn.She couldn't but turn her career to another way,filming TV serial.
Looking back upon the past, Anita comforts herself that it's her fortune,if she didn't go Mainland China to film, she would never get a stable career which she've got now.
*ANITA YUEN ADMIRES ANGELICA LEE
At present,Anita's filming the serial "Gu Lian Hua" at Shanghai.In this serial she co-operates with Angelica Lee-former Best actress at HKFAA and their relationship between them is quite "special". Talking with reporter of "New" magazine on location,Anita cofides that because of deeply getting under the skin of the character,she's being charmed by Angelica. Everyday she expects to see and care for her lovely co-operator.
In "Gu lian hua", Anita's role has a charming figure. But for her,the most interesting thing is the co-operation with Angelica. Anita humorously says:"This time, Angelica is the one who make me eager to play this film so I tried to do my best.She's really a charming woman."
