sori if i've repeated any thing 'cos I tried to consolidate all the news and clarify some of debbie's queries at the same time, so, yeh! it's a bit messy...yeh, debbie, i understand..i always find hk articles hard to understand too even tho' i speak cantonese 'cos the words are not standard chinese words & some canto words invented by the hk press & soemtimes the same word varies...sigh! it takes me a while & a few readings to get it too...i always feel like fainting when i hv to read them..plus they're in traditional chinese...
ok. so here's the rest....
This dress with 2,000 pieces of diamond sewn on it, worth US$1,000,000, was first worn by actress Leeza Gibbons at the 72nd Oscar Awards ceremony. (no, Anita only models the dress..it's NOT given to her.)
As the dress had a long train at the back and she was wearing 4-inch heels, she was very nervous – more so than when she was a contestant at the Miss HK. Anita was modeling for this just diamonds company and she had a dress complete with jewels. She says that she was worried that she isn't suited to be a model and couldn't become anything in this field so she was very nervous when she came out in the dress. She said that before she came out, she asked for suggestions and help from the other models in the back.

Okay, now that I had enough rest and both of my legs are touching the ground after floating on the air for a few days since Friday's night. I'd like to type down my experience in details to share with the fans. Here goes:-
First of all, on Friday, 4 March 2005, after reading the news that Anita would be here in Malaysia for a few days in the local Chinese Newspapers "Sin Chew Jit Poh" in the morning, I kept thinking about the chance to meet her during the weekend since i had missed so many chances to meet her in the past. So on Monday, 7 March 2005, I decided to dial Adonis' number 03-31436868, stated in the article but to my dismay, no such number exists. I kept calling and finally got my senses and tried the number again but this time, my instinct told me to dial with the first digit "2" instead of "3" as stated in the article. So, I finally got through and the Adonis¡¯ girl of KL branch diverted me to the PJ branch since I live nearby to the PJ branch. So I called up and made an appointment to collect my tickets at night after work around 7.30 p.m (I chit-chatted with the girl at the PJ branch for nearly half an hour and she must be thinking ¡°Here goes another mad Anita¡¯s fan¡±. She even ¡°praised¡± me for my ¡°innocence¡±, i.e. an adult with a small fan¡¯s dream of meeting Anita! He!he!).
Before that in the afternoon, I managed to persuade a friend to attend the dinner since it was a charity dinner at a five star hotel, Crown Princess Hotel and also of course for me the main attraction was Anita! To meet Anita in person and at the same time doing a little bit of charity in helping the needy through the National Kidney Foundation were just perfect! (BTW, when asked by the emcee on the charity dinner, how she maintains her beauty, Anita answered wittily that by doing charity she maintains her beauty. Okay more on that later). My friend quickly agreed without my persuasion...he..he¡He¡¯s not a big Anita¡¯s fan but just likes to watch her acting. So, for him, it was like attending a charity dinner, doing a good deed and experimented with his new digital camera (well, we took about 30 pictures of Anita but luckily half of them turned out perfect. The rest are just so-so.).
So after I bought the tickets, during the next two weeks before the dinner, I kept mentioning about Anita like I was possessed until my colleagues said ¡°Enough already!¡± He¡he¡Even my friends teased me every now and then. Anyway, rewind a little, at the end of last year and early this year, I mumbled to my friends that one of my dreams is to meet Anita (which I did!!!) and how I kept missing the chances to meet her. So when the news broke out that she¡¯d be here, one of them said that looks like your dream is coming true¡Yes, it did!
Finally,18 March 2005 came, after two weeks of waiting and patience, (a week before I had applied for half day leave on that day but then my work got me stuck on that day after lunch but luckily my boss was so ¡°kind¡± enough to let me go back early after I managed to rush them out for him. So I left office at 5.30 p.m., quickly went back home and took a quick shower, sorted my clothes (I wanted to look good and at the same time suited the occasion) and I tried to style my hair a few times with failures (at the end, I just messed them up and they looked good (I think so myself)). My friend arrived late at 6.25 p.m. straight after work as expected and I quickly rushed him to get ready in 15 minutes! He only managed to style his hair in the car! Ha! Ha! So we got out on the road around 6.45 p.m (dinner was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. but knowing the normal way of dinner functions in Malaysia, we expected for it to start at the earliest at 8 pm. Eventually it only started at 8.30 p.m after Anita¡¯s arrival). So after some slight traffic jam and wrong turnings, we managed to reach the hotel at 7.30 p.m.
Upon arrival, we were shown to our table (no.17) which was in the first row right in front of the stage on the right hand side and just two table away form Anita! I just couldn¡¯t believe my luck! So after being seated for a boring 10 minutes, we decided to take a walk and to the gents¡¯. After that, we decided to wait outside the entrance of the grand ballroom to catch the first glimpse of Anita upon her arrival together with Adonis staff who were all lined up to welcome the VIPs and Anita(which we did! I was stunned at her height and beautiful complex). First came the VIPs and the CEO of Adonis and then Anita walked in around 8.30 p.m. looking elegant and trendy with her knees-length black dress and high heels. Her hair was tied up not in a bun but was all curled up. She walked so fast that the whole process was less than a minute! The way she walked was just like how she did in her movies. So real and at the same time giving us a very ¡°close¡± feeling like were seeing her everyday. I followed her closely right at her back (two-three feet away) and the camera was just right in front of her and I felt like a part of her entourage (feeling lie a VIP!). So when she reached her table, I slowly walked up and complimented her by saying ¡°Anita, you look so beautiful¡± and she thanked me. I went back to my table and my eyes just couldn¡¯t get away from her! So after, 10 minutes, I waked up to her and presented her with a bouquet of African daisies which I ordered a day before and a hand-made card (after several failed attempts during those two weeks) and told her that she must read my card and maybe she would remember me by then. She thanked me and promised she would read it. So I excused myself and back at my table, I observed her and hey¡she did read my card almost immediately after and passed it to her agent! I was over the moon!
During the dinner, I didn¡¯t eat much as I was ¡°too¡± busy looking at Anita! Then, came the speech session by the CEO and after that a souvenirs handling ceremony to the VIPs and Anita. As Anita walked down after receiving hers, the emcee shouted and called her up immediately saying that it¡¯s time for a up-close interview session with her. The guests laughed.
The summary of the interview session:-
1. Anita talked about her busy schedule and that she is currently on a two months break before starting her next project.
2. She also said that she enjoyed being Adonis¡¯ spokesperson and they enjoyed a good working relationship,
3. She also recommended Adonis¡¯ treatment to the guests and how they really worked! Look at her!
4. When asked about how she maintains her beauty, she wittily and cheekily replied ¡°Doing a lot of charity!¡±
5. When the emcee talked about her multiple talents, she looked stunned at the words ¡°singing career¡±! Gosh¡she only released an album and it was so many years ago!
6. The emcee said that she heard that Anita love durian and she disappointedly confessed said that when she arrived here in Malaysia, the moment she was told that now it¡¯s not the season for durian, she felt like flying home to Hong Kong almost immediately!!!
Next came the game session (Q&A with 5 lucky guests), one out of place man couldn¡¯t even name one of her movies! Anita was ¡°embarrassed¡± and the emcee had to give him clues! Then, another guy asked ¡°What/Who is ¡°Leng-Leng¡±?¡± when he was requested to make up a sentence using three words provided (¡°Leng-leng¡± was of them). Anita looked stunned and replied ¡°It¡¯s me¡± (¡°Pun yan¡±-in Cantonese). Obviously, these guests were not so much of her hardcore fans like us! During the time when Anita was on stage, we rushed to the front and snapped pictures like crazy! Luckily, I brought along extra batteries or else my friend would be ¡°scolded¡± by me like hell! His batteries ran out!
Then after that, Anita came down and back to her seats and the emcee announced that Anita couldn¡¯t be here for the whole night as she got interviews and some other matters to attend to as well. So iquickly went to her and apologized for disturbing her ¡°peace¡± and requested for her autographs and some pictures with her. She kindly agreed and when she misspelled my name which I pointed out to her when she signed the cd cover of her debut album, she turned and looked at me pathetically ¡°I will not get it wrong next time¡¡± My heart melted¡oww¡how sweet! She signed twice on the cd cover and the bootleg. She also signed on the hard-copy of the e-mail which I though was from her 5 years ago. She said that it was most probably by one of the people in her team/agent. Anyway, when I asked to confirm again, she said that ¡°I¡¯ll never lie to you¡±. I was dying¡not because of disappointment but of her down to earth sweet nature!
Then I requested to take picture with her and she agreed and said ¡°Now¡±. I shouted at my friend who were sitting at out table and turned back and talked to Anita again. Then I tuned back and looked for my fiend, I was panicked as he was not around as I didn¡¯t want to waste time and Anita¡¯s as well. Anita pointed to me that he was just right in front of me sitting on a nearby chair, I was so embarrassed!!! He!He! Anita must have felt my ¡°excitement¡± that got me ¡°blind¡±.
I even sent Delfin¡¯s regards to her and asked whether she still remember eating the durian that Delfin ¡°smuggled¡± for her from Singapore to Shanghai in May last year! She said yes and looked a bit disappointed that Delfin couldn¡¯t make it to the dinner.
She praised me of my profession and wishes me well with it when I told her of that. Her agent did the same. Shortly after, she left the dinner at about 9.40 p.m.
BTW, Delfin, can you please let me have her management company¡¯s address? So I can send a card to thank her and her agent for being so kind to me that night.

Okay...just a short summary before i smile and sleep sweetly tonight:-
1.I met Anita about 8.20 p.m. and praised her for looking so beautiful. I presented her with a hand-made card and a bouquet of African daisies. She thanked me, of course!
2. She wore a simple black dress which i believe i had seen her wearing before this...
3. I managed to talk to her on and off for about 5 minutes altogether. The CEO of Adonis, a lady, even joked around when she came to my table and said that I "earned" the most that night (talking and taking photographs with Anita! I think i was the only fan to do so taht night except some lucky audiences who amnaged to get up on the stage with her for a Q&A game session. A guy looked so out of place that he couldn't even name even a single movie out so many Anita's movies!)
4. Anita got my name wrong but sweetly in a very "pampered" way, she cmforted me and said "i'll make sure that i remember it correctly next time...I won't get it wrong next time"! Owww...so sweet....
5. She and her manager praised me of my profession and wished me well with it.
6. She admitted that the reply to my e-mail which i thought was from her 5 years ago was actually by her agent or someone from her team. When i asked her to confirm again, she assured me that she'll never lie to me...how sweet, even though what i believed to be from her all these year was just a "lettle" scam..Anyway, i still asked her to sign in the hard copy of that e-mail and she politely obliged.
7. She even signed on the cover of her debut cd twice for me. Her manager looked a bit surprise at the album and said "Isn't this your debut album?!"
8. When I told her that i've watched the first part of "River Flowing East". She looked surprise and asked me "It is already released here?" and i replies "yes" and praised her of her acting.
9. A funny incident, when i requested to take some photoghraphs with her of which she quickly agreed, i quickly shouted for my friend to come and help me and then turned back to Anita again telling something to her. Then I turned around again looking and asking for my frined like he was lost and she pointed to me where my friend was, right in fornt of us! So embarassing that i overlooked a friend who was right in front of me!
10. Delfin, i did send your regard to her and she still remember who you are. She missed the "durians" she ate in May last year in Shanghai. She looked dissapointed when i told her that you couldn't make it...
Okay, that's all for tonight. Gotta gop and sleep....all the bets, with love from Malaysia, Cains.

It's about "Gu Lian Hua" being entered for both the Golden Horse (for movies) and Golden Bell (for tv series) awards in TAiwan. As this production has 2 versions (both movie & tv series), the producer entered it for both awards. But it's unclear if it would qualify for both and there isn't any precedent for reference. (Oh God, pls let "Gu Lian Hua" be the first then. Just by watching the trailers, one can tell the director has put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making it. And let's pray for anita to win both the Golden Horse award and Golden Bell award 'cos she really did a great job and she deserves it. It's high time she got the Golden Horse award, really.)
Oh, the news also mention that the movie version will be out on 15 Apr before the tv series is out in end Apr. (omg! i'm so excited over this...this is really one movie to buy it in dvd to keep.)

THis is Anita's latest Taiwanese tv series, "Gu Lian Hua" ("Loving Flower in Lonesome"..sori, cldn't think of a gd translation)...can d/l clips(tho' for video clips, i've alreadi posted the links earlier on..they're the same clips), wallpaper, etc. of this lovely movie too...the site designs v.pretty too...and of course our lovely Anita looks simply gorgeous in a cheongsam....can't wait to watch this
It will have a movie version too.
It's based on BAi Xian Yong's novel of the same name. Anita plays Yun Fang, a leading dance hostess in a Shanghai nightclub. Angelicia Li Sin jie plays Wu Bao, her love interest (yeh, there's a passionate kissing scence bet the 2 of them.) But Wu BAo fell in love with a young musician. At last, sufferring from injury, she dies in anita's arms, while fleeing the war.
As the story spans fr the 1940's to 1960's, it also touches on the WW2 and Anita had to flee to Taiwan cos of the war. There, she's relegated to a songstress at a pub. She met another young woman, Juan Juan, played by TAiwanese actress, Xiao SuZhen. It reminds her of Wu Bao & Anita also fell in love with her.
Anita's character fell in love with women 'cos having seen all kinds of men, she was disappointed with men.
sori...this's a v.quick synopsis...in a hurry..there're lots more stuff in there like what the artistes think, the costume design, etc....u guys can go read & help translate them..enjoy!

don't think so cos in the first plc anita falls for women when she became disillussioned with men....but in the book, there's a man who loves her but she doesn't love him (fr wat i heard)....

Hi! Just checking whether anybody from this group (no, not you Delfin but of course i'll be happy to see you there!) is attending the upcoming charity dinner at Crown Princee Hotel, KL? Well i bought my ticket and a friend is coming together with me to try his new digital camera (of which i've already reminded him to test his skill before the event..so my picture with Anita will turn out clear and perfect!). Just thinking maybe we can have a short introduction to each other on that night since we're all big fans of Anita. BTW, anybody here who is going to track down Anita during her 5 days visit here before the charity dinner? Well, if yes, do drop me a note if by chance you happen to spot Anita around PJ area since I'm staying there. But of course that is if I'm not stuck in the office struggling with my paperworks! I then told him that he was too gentlemanly that would create misunderstanding. I think he has change his behaviour a little now. This kind of news has decreased substantially lately. As regards the incident in Thailand, Chilam has told me before he went that he would like to gain some knowledge about these things, and I did not object his going. If I had not known about this beforehand, I would have been angry. This time I don't think he has stepped out of line.
Lenlen and Chilam have been lovers for over 13 years. They know about each other's feelings very well. Whenever there is argument, lenlen would always leave the battle ground and think it over. No matter who's in the right, neither of them would ever say breakup. Lenlen" It is not easy that two people can be together for 13 years. We value each other very much. Book reading
Both Lenlen and Chilam were attracted by the Book 'Da Vince Code'. They both read it. Lenlen "We have different habits about reading. I am a fast reader and like to know about the ending sooner. Chilam reads slowly, sometimes it takes him a month to finish a book. We often discuss about a book after we finish reading. Very often our views are pretty close.
When talking about daily lives. Lenlen feels that they have to accommodate each other. e.g." I am very impatient when driving. Hence when we go out together now he usually takes the wheel. But there is a problem, he has no sense of direction, and often gets lost. Before, I would have been very angry. He would then calmly said: we would eventually be there. I give up. Now, I do not even care about this anymore. That is what I call about accommodating each other"
Career
Lately, a lot of actors and actresses from Hong Kong are going to work in China. Lenlen has been doing this a while ago. She can now earn about 2 to 3 million dollars a year by taking 2 to 3 series. On top of that she also does commercials. Her earning is fairly substantial. That's why she has thought of settling down in Shanghai. However, Chilam said that most of their friends are in Hong kong and he prefers to live in Hong kong. Of course she has to give up that idea of settling in shanghai.
Advancement in the filming industry in China
Lenlen said that the market in China for film workers from HongKong is not as good as a few years ago. There has been a lot of improvement in their film making. A lot of workers have been trained and the quality has advanced a lot. If the film workers in Hong Kong do not work harder and try to improve themsleves it would not be easy for them to get work in the future.
Lenlen has not worked in Hongkong for a long time. She is actually quietly waiting for opportunity. She said that opportunity does not come easily. I very much wish to work in Hongkong but I have to have a good script. Actually I am contended I got the award for the best new comer, then two awards for best actress. We can not always be at the top especially in the field of entertainment. You have to unerstand this fact of life, then you can be happy.

here...maybe that's why u've not heard of it....but u wld find it in a lot of media (just do a search or go into the news section of lenlenfamily/com/bbs)...in fact even THe Straits Times (S'pore's largest Eng papers carried the story when they didn't run anything on their proper news like their new shows & stuff)...i was so mad with these media that i had resolutely refused to post the 'story' here..
it's basically this stupid rumour abt Chilam calling for a prostitute in Thailand when he went filming with Eric Tsang & Lam Ka Dong in Dec 2004...it even went as far as getting a pic of the supposed pros & said she look like Anita but was busty (hk's media is sick!) Of course it wasn't true but it caused a huge uproar and then anita came out to say she had complete trust in him and that she was with him in Thailand at that time. In fact, they were lucky to have left just a few days b4 the tsunami struck Thailand...phew!
even tho' i sometimes think that chilam may not treat anita well enough (just my opinion & may not be true) i really don't think he would do such a thing...
