when that guy and anita meet in the beginning of the movie, there was an earthquake, and they were together in a basement or tunnel or something, so they couldn't see each other's face, only the names. I think that guy was blind or something too. so anyway, they fall in love.
after they survived the earthquake, they lost contact. anita somehow ended up in a different town. her mom wanted her sister to marry this guy. somehow the mom hates anita. so the sister took up anita's name. this guy mistook her for anita, so they got married.

oh, the guy and anita fall in love. i don't remember why that guy is blind? but they are together for a while after they survive the earthquake in taiwan. then anita gets pregnant. then they lost contact. anita ended up in a different town. that guy marries anita's sister, thinking that is anita.
then most of the movie is about how anita goes through all the hardships etc.... she's in hongkong now. she gives birth to a daughter. they're very poor. and anita has to work at a bar.
in the mean time, that guy's eyes are fixed, he's not blind anymore. and he becomes richer and richer. so one time he goes to hongkong on a business trip and goes to that bar and saw anita working there, but anita didn't see him.
anyway, there was a fire at anita's house, and everything was burnt down. anita thought her daugher died in the fire.. but actually a good friend saved the daughter. the friend and anita lost contact due to the fire. so before this friend dies of cancer, he went to taiwan to give the young daughter back to her biological father to adopt since this couple don't have any kids. (this friend knows that guy is the father, but didn't tell him that).
later, anita went back to taiwain, and she now becomes a very successful designer of sculptures, and works for this company and becomes rich herself..
end of the movie, at a convention they all meet. anita realizes the guy married her sister, and her daugher is still alive and all this time was adopted by her real father....
so actually throughout the whole movie, anita and that guy don't meet much. he was in love with anita the whole time, but mistook her sister for her. pretty sad...

when the guy finds out he married the wrong sister, that's basically the end of the series already. he's very shocked and feels very guilty towards anita, and he's mad at the wife.
so the wife leaves home, because she feels guilty for lying to him all these years, and she feels anita has gone so much hardship that she deserves to be with the guy and their daughter. anita of course is not going back to him. the daughter kinda hates anita when they first meet. so anita is working on getting closer to her daughter when she finds out it's her daughter.
anyway, after the wife leaves home, the husband goes looking for her, with anita. they, one more time, survived together through another big earthquake. he realizes he thinks of his wife the most while he's being trapped in the building. so the end: he feels very guilty towards anita, and she's the one he loved. but all the years he spent with his wife, he loves her for herself too. so he gets back with his wife. at which time she finds out that she's pregnant, after like 20 years without any biological kids.
hate it. very unfair for anita.. but the ending makes sense.. i mean, it would make no sense if the guy still loves anita in name. ??

Anita worked at an orphanage when she returned to China after her search for ying jai (the guy)in Hong Kong failed. At the orphanage she developed friendship with the children there. The children called her mom. Especially one boy who treated her like his mother. At the end she reconciled with her daughter when the daughter found out that Anita really loved her. Anita forgave her step mother who treated her really badly before. The ending actually was quite happy. Anita might have lost the husband but she got the love of everyone.

well, i wouldn't exactly call that a happy ending.. in a way, everyone is okay.. but I guess, I'm looking at it from anita's point of view. and it's very sad for her.
for all her life, she's been having it tough. in the series, she had 3 guys who all like her and would sacrifice anything for her: the main character, the friend from China who later married another girl but still loves her, the police friend (the fat guy) from HongKong who later saved her daughter from the fire. Yet, in the end, anita ends up with no one. plus, she's been going through lots of hardships, mentally and financially too.
even though in the end, anita is doing okay. but that's still a very lonely life. yeah, she has an adopted son and a real daughter, but they're all grown and very soon will go on with their own life.. and anita is left behind with no one though she's successful as a career woman. the main character is back with his wife, realizing they're a family expecting a new baby. the friend from China finally realizes he should love his own wife, after the wife commits suicide. the fat guy from hongkong died a long time ago. so really, anita has no one to fall back on. how sad.

Yesterday, anita and Chilam brought their 1-year old son, Morton cheung, to Macau to play. This was the first time that reporters managed to capture a shot of Morton on camera. He possesses all of his parents good qualities, with big eyes, smooth and fair skin, and he looks a lot like chilam.
Chilam and Anita went in a big group of 10 people, and they rented 2 big vehicles for everyone. When Anita was gambling in Macau, Chilam just sat there and watched her, when asked why, he replied, " I lost quite a sum yesterday, so i think today i'll just see if she can recover my losses!" In the meantime, Morton was dancing, if not looking around playfully.
(i didn't include pics cos i see that its already been done. hahahaha, but for all you know, that might not be Morton, remember how the reporters got it wrong last time?)
than the real Morton. I mean Morton was born last November (if I remember right) so he is going to be one year old this November, can't not be that big.

Since Anita Yuen Wing Yee gave birth to her son, Morton Cheung, she has been satisfied in taking a break from working. However, after numerous requests from TVB, Anita finally accepted to star in a modern series with Michael Miu Kiu Wai!
Before filming the new detective series for TVB in November, Anita will act in a movie first. Apparently, baby Morton has brought his mother much luck in her career!
Anita said in a telephone interview, "Approximately 70% of the filming details have been finalized with TVB. After appearing on Stephen Chan's 'Be My Guest,' TVB repeatedly offered me numerous scripts, with Michael Miu as the lead."
"Among the offered scripts, there was a sci-fi detective series that was the most interesting. My character will have to solve cases. Since it has been a long time since I acted in a TVB series, I am very happy and this will help relieve my acting itch!"
How will Anita be able to take care of baby Morton while she is filming? "One of my filming requirements is to get off work on time. I want to enjoy the filming process, but I do not want the hours to be overly strenuous. Meanwhile, my parents will take care of Morton." Anita mentioned that Morton was a very active baby. Aside from learning how to sit, he also jumps around a lot.
Although Anita was acquainted with Michael Miu, she did not know him too well. The pair never worked together before. However, Anita was well aware of Michael's acting and feels he has a certain attraction.
Michael also looks forward to collaborating with Anita, "I heard that my new co-star will be Anita Yuen. This is a fresh combination. Anita is a good actress. Since she has not appeared on Hong Kong television in such a long time, the audience will undoubtedly look forward to it!"
TVB executive, Virigina Lok Yi Ling also confirmed that Anita will be filming for TVB. "We successfully recruited Anita after numerous negotiations. She is interested in the sci-fi series the most, as she has never filmed in the genre before."

hey, thanks for the latest news. Great to know that she's finally starring in a TVB series again! Wow! It seems like she's going one full cycle back to where she started off...you know, Miss HK, TVB series...Haha, that's life, i guess.
And co-starring with veteran actor, Miu Kiu Wai too....used to watch his series when i was a kid back then. Haha.So, she's starring in a detective series (or is it the science fic one?)....Recalled Anita had always wanted to act as a police officer. Hope she gets to do so now .

Initially, when anita was pregnant, she was zipping around HK in her yellow Mini Cooper bought by chilam. However, after following chilam's advice, she agreed to buy a white Alphard instead.
Now, since the arrival of the latest black Mini Cooper, chilam bought this for anita as she likes Mini Coopers. Hence, on Thurs afternoon, anita was seen with chilam and morton, checking out her new car. After chilam settled all the car procedures, lenlen excitedly drove around in her flashy new mini cooper while chilam took care of morton and the rest of their family in his 7-seater Alphard.

Yesterday was Chilam Cheung's 36th birthay. It was also Chilam's wife, Anita Yuen Wing Yee's lunar birthday as well. Anita and Chilam celebrated with their son, Morton.
Regarding his birthday wish, Chilam said he would like to act in a good script. "My friends and family know that I am very environmentally conscious and support recycling. Thus they only gave cash gifts for my birthday."
Did Chilam's son give him any gifts? "As long as Morton is healthy, that is the best gift!"
Also, China recently held a survey entitled "2007 Chinese Artists with the Best Public Image." In the first round of voting, Chilam was among the top 500 artists with the most votes. At one point in the voting, Chilam was even in one of the top 5 positions, surpassing Aaron Kwok, Alan Tam, Leon Lai etc. by a measurable distance!
No wonder Chilam said, "This is my best birthday gift! My numerous years working in China were not wasted!"
Did Chilam have confidence to win an award in the survey? "I'll see how it goes. But I am extremely happy I have so many supporters!"

I once collated everyone's birhtday messages and compiled into a booklet & couriered it over. That was back in 2004 I think.
Then in 2005, got some fans to record their birthday messages, collated in a cd and sent it over.
The pics are in past posts.
Last year, didn't do anything for her birthday cos thought it was too near to Nov, her expected delivery date. So just called her HK manager to wish her, "Happy Birthday".

On the modern series list, the first 3 are TVB productions, a long time ago, right after Anita won Miss HongKong. Anita was very beautiful in the series with Truong Thieu Huy and Ly Khac Can.
On the ancient list, I recommend THIEU LAM 36 PHONG. Anita is very beautiful in this series and TAN TIEU NGAO GIANG HO. But of course, my favorite series of all time is MULAN.

Wow great, thanks a lot for the info Tam. I have seen Mulan, Tan Tieu Ngao Giang Ho and Quang Truong Chanh Tuong and I love all the series. Anita looks beautiful in ancient series. I am going to watch Thieu Lam 36 Phong soon ^_^.
Oh is the mainland series Million Dollar Bride release in US yet?

Yup, I haven't forgotten Anita's upcoming birthday, tho' I don't think there's time to (nor do I have the energy) organize any joint activity nor prepare any special gifts for her, like we had done before.

I saw part of it, but then I got bored and did not finish watching it. Plus, Anita's role did not have a happy ending. that's why I couldn't continue watching.

Since becoming a mother, Anita has thrown herself into motherhood and charity work. Earlier on, she has been to Qinghai and Gansu Prefectures to do voluntary work; helping to build water storage. This time round, she would take off for 4 days to Ningxia Autonomous Region, but with a heavy heart.
On the day that she was to set off, her son was down with trachitis. She was in a dilemma whether to leave her son or to abandon the trip. But then, she reckon her son would behave himself and listen to his maternal grandmother if he knew his mum was away for a good cause. What more, the children (at the school) would be disappointed if she didn¡¯t turn up.
Despite being anxious for her son¡¯s condition, Anita was all smiles and warmth when she was with the kids. As the Health Ambassador for China¡¯s Red Cross, her duties include inspecting the hygiene and drinking water condition of kids in that area. Anita was glad that their living condition had improved but it was a pity that the presents she prepared was insufficient. She was told that only 30 students would be present as it was in the midst of summer vacation. So she prepared 60 sets of gifts (double that amount). But it turned out that there were 100 students instead! (Gosh! That organizer ought to be shot!)
Compared to her last appearance at the 10th Anniversary of HK¡¯s Return to China in Beijing, Anita looks visibly slimmer. All thanks to her hyperactive son, Anita has slimmed down further.
Anita quipped, ¡°I think I¡¯ve shed another 10 pounds since my last appearance in Beijing. He can crawl now, so I¡¯m like a cow herd following his every move! That¡¯s why I could lose weight so fast!¡±
Anita beamed at the mention of her son. As soon as the interview wraps up, she can¡¯t wait to rush home for her son.
¡°He¡¯s sick, yet I¡¯m not by his side. I feel that I¡¯m not being a good mother. Thanks everyone, Bye!¡±
