I've been using the floppy drive on my ASR-10 for years, but it's starting to act up. I've had the scsi/cd rom drive sitting in a box for years but never used it. I hooked it up today and loaded some sounds into my asr and made a beat, love this thing but I can't figure out how to save banks, sequences, and samples onto a cd using the scsi drive. How do you do it? Do you have to format a cd? am I using the wrong kind of cd (I tried using a regular cd-r and a cd-rw and both times message read: "Wrong disk type"? Someone help me... I have a beat I spent mad time on sitting here... machine is still on and I can't figure this one out. Thanks!

If memory serves me right CD ROM means "Read-Only-Memory" hence "ROM" therfore you cant save to it. You would be a heluva lot better off with an Iomega zip drive if u wanna save stuff. Or even an external SCSI hard drive.

Cheers.

Yeah, I just got the email back I sent to support at syntaur.com they said the same thing. The cd-rom drive came with the unit when I bought it on ebay, thought I'd put it to use. It came with a few cd-rom's packed with sounds and loaded into asr-10 real fast. I gotta get a zip drive now... any advice on which one to get? Thanks!

I use a couple of ZIP 100's. I also have a 250 but a 250 wont format a 100MB disc on an ASR. I'd get a 100, they are cheap as hell on eBay as are the discs.

Cheers.
