I will be receiving a asr 10 any day now and it does not include a os disk. The board has a scsi kit installed. I will be purchasing a zip drive or hd for the board my problem is my pc does not have a scsi card or floppy drive in it. My question is what are my options in order to hook up the zip drive to my pc to transfer and store sounds etc. and also to obtain a os disk on the zip drive to get the asr up and running? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
As far as I know, there is no way to hook your ASR to your PC in such a way as to transfer sound files and such. (I may be wrong, I've just never heard of a way myself.) You can hook it to your PC by way of MIDI cables, but that won't let you transfer files between the two. I would have NO problem sending you a floppy disk through the mail with the latest operating system on it (version 3.53). You could then boot up your board, and copy the O.S. to your ZIP drive for permanant booting. That's the best I can do for you to get your board up and running. Let me know if you would like me to do that.
