i can copy just one layer of the wave sample. I need to copy both layers at one time instead of copying the left and right channel and assigning it to different keygroups, is that possible? Let's say I sample in stereo and then I want to have the same sample starting on each octave, so I can adjust the starting and ending points for each one of them. But when I do this, only the last copied sample plays in stereo so how do I make them all come out from both channels expect copying always both of the layers separately and assigning them separately to the same root key? Is there a way to do that? Thanks for your answers!
- Been looking for this too, but I don`t think it`s possible. But prove me wrong, please! Still, I`ve become quite fast on copying these. The key is to copy WS1 to Lyr1, WS2 to Lyr2, Edit/Pitch -Then WS4 to Lyr2, WS3 to Lyr1, Edit/Pitch - Saves U a lot of time
you can. make sure you have created another 2 layers (4 total). when you go to copy the sample from layer one, the other channel of that sample is automatically copied to layer 3.
Could you please extend your answer a little bit? Do I create the other samples by recording again or copying them? Write out how you do it please, thank you very much!
my bad for the earlier post. I posted my reply from memory.
Here's the deal on copying stereo samples:
when you create your first stereo sample, you will need to copy the first layer (since it was created as a stereo layer, layer 2 will be created automatically). When you do that, you will obviously have a copy of that first sample on layers 3 and 4. If you still want that copy on layers 3 and 4, then you will need to go to "cmd/pitch" and put that sample on a different key or range. If you don't want it, then delete it from layer 3 (and it will be deleted from layer 4). Now, when you go back to layer 1, you can create more samples. WHen you copy those samples, unfortunately, you will have to copy them to layer 3. When you do your copies, copy only the sample on layer 1 since layer 1 and 2 are stereo and are linked. Once the sample is copied, they will be on the same key/range, so you will need to go to layer 3 only, and change the key/range, and then any other parameters.
I know it sounds kinda time consuming, but this is a really old board. But, this is a process you really need to do with stereo samples only. It's not as hard with mono samples.
Hope this helps a little. I've been using this board since 1993, so I know quite a few tricks on it.
Ok, I've copied my layer one and it created layers 3 and 4 since the sample is stereo linked, but when I try to put the layer on a different key range it is possible to set the low and high ws range only, not the root key, it says THIS LAYER NOT IN PATCH.
"When you do your copies, copy only the sample on layer 1 since layer 1 and 2 are stereo and are linked." does not work because the stereo link does not work for copying samples. Eventhough the stereo link is on, when I copy sample 1 from L1 it only creates sample 3, not sample 4 too.
I'm sorry to bother you again, but what am i doing wrong?
