ASR Midi Clock Sync

Rub a dub dub blah blah...

Well guru, nobody has answered my question so I'm going to have to rub your tummy until I get an answer here...

I have a question about what happens with the ASR-10 when it receives an external Midi Clock sync code which exceeds the number of bars in the current sequence.

So let's assume you have an 8 bar Sequence in the ASR which is playing (locked to the external clock signal), and that the ASR-10 is receiving sync code which starts from bar 1, and goes to bar 8, but the sync code then exceeds bar 8 and continues on to bar 9 beat 1, 2, 3...

...do you know if the ASR-10 is smart enough to know "Look, there's no bar 9, so bar 9 is effectively bar 1 because it's a looped sequence, hence when the sync code says bar 9 beat 2, it means bar 1 beat 2"?

Or will it simply stop and give up?

Rub rub rub... come on Guru you can do it!

Cheers,
Kim.

ha ha ha ha. Good point Triple_A.

Answer to his question, though, is yes. Also, when you are rewinding/fforwarding on the master, the ASR follows the best it can. You can see the beats/bars number changing.

Unfortunately, the ASR is prone to locking up, so I wouldn't rely on that too much.
