what are you trying to do exactly?
use the "software" as some type of sound module?
dump your sequence in the "software" so you can record, edit & mix it?
all this is possible & more!!!

the most popular industry standard DAW software would have to be Digidesign Pro Tools
I use Sonar 4, which is an all-purpose digital recording/sequencing program. It is very powerful and is a whole lot less expensive than Pro Tools, which is the gold standard.
