MCDisk help

Hey, I bough a SCSI Card reader (MCDisk) from Ebay because SCSI's for samplers doesnt sell them anymore. But it was labelled normally and was not labeled "for asr 10" after I purchased it I noticed there was one labeled "for asr 10" Is there a difference? I don't want to waste all this money and hassle to find out I can't use it with my ASR. Are they universal? or do they need to be tampered with to work on the ASR? Also what type of SCSI cable will I need to connect it?
