using the ASR-10 with a DAW

Hello everybody, I just got signed up with these forums because I am really close to trading in my Motif XS for a ASR-10. I don't use the sounds in the XS that much and I want the ASR-10 to use as my sampler for my drums.

I use Cubase 4 to do all my sequencing and want to continue using it as my sequencer. Using the Motif XS as my MIDI controller it is very easy to have the XS control a VST like Omnisphere on one MIDI track and on another MIDI track have sounds coming from the Motif.

My main question is can the ASR do the same. I assume it can, but just want to make sure since the technology is a little old.

To really break down what I want to do with the ASR-10. I want to sequence the drum samples from the ASR inside of Cubase. I want to be able to have maybe 8 midi tracks triggering drum samples from the ASR-10 while I use the ASR-10 as my MIDI controller to control other rack mount modules or VST's.

Thanks in advance and I apologize for the newbiness of my question.
