I was just reading the manual..like I do everyday and theres so many options for modulation its fuckin ridiculous between all the destinations within the effects, the 15 sources, all types of shit. So I would like to get some advice/tips on what are some interesting ways to use modulation. what combinations have you used that end up creating something useful/that sounds good. Thanks

routing

July 6 2009, 9:09 AM

I was Reading the hip hop icons of today route the signal from protools into the SPDIF I/O and process a single track then eventually EQ the entire mix or compress the mix back into the DAW.

Im set up like that but yeah the ASR10 does some wild stuff so I never got around to that yet.

I did get a looping sound when I tested it but I think it was my DAW.
I guess pretty much crunch the mix to that dirty 90's sound.

I dont see any of those guys going into any detail on youtube but I wonder if they had an interview of the production elements that would be an interesting read.

From computer audio out >> into ASR10
From ASR10 >> Out back into the computer in.

Then your using the ASR10 as an effect processor.
But its done after the track is recorded and then they bounce that track into two tracks one wet and one dry.
same is done with moog synths as it has audio inputs.

I try to keep it as uncomplicated as possible and never use the bussing, because im pretty noob.

Yea what ur talking about has NOTHING to do with what the OP (sened) was asking about.

He's asking about the MOD wheel/modulation - not routing Audio.

@ Sened, Yo yea the destinations are crazy. But for every destination u have equal as many targets (sources) so u can have all types of ish going!!!which includes turning the modulation 'off' so the mod wheel doesnt modulate the sound.

One thing i like to do is set the mod wheel to the Low Pass Filter cutoff and play with that in real time. Really basic, and one of the many things you can do wit dis BEAST!
