To answer the original question, no you can't use the OEX-8 on the 16+, only on the original EPS. There was a different breakout box that had 6 outs for the 16+.
The one you want is the OEX-6/SR. There's one currently on sale on eBay (auction expires 10/18), though I think it's overpriced and you can probably find one for less.
