Hi.

Just got an asr-10 and have ordered a manual. I have a quick question and if anyone knows the answer I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts.

My question is this - when I sample something and then 'play the root key' it works as expected and I can hear the sample at different pitches (cool).

However - the higher the pitch the sample is played - the faster it goes, this makes it difficult to play melodies with samples.

Is there a known way of getting around this ?

thanks

yea i had the same question when i first started with the asr, the only thing you can do there is to use the pitch shift effect (#39). put bus1 mix to 99 and bus2 all the way down. the vc1 volume all the way down and then you can move vc2 pitch up and down however you like. it will only play on one side but you can resample and go from there. i found the sound quality degrades quite a bit when you do this, but depending on how much range you need it might work for you.

Nope, your method only changes pitch, not tempo.

Sorry, but that's the nature of sampling... you are only recording a short snip of digital audio and playing it back... it doesn't make the audio elastic, and the ASR just doesn't do what you're asking.
