It looks like I am on my way back to New Zealand so my Starion needs a new home!
She is in great condition, having covered around 88000 miles.
She has been garaged since I have had her and the previous owner had her garaged too.
Nearly completely standard, I think the exhaust system has been replaced and it had the TC06 turbo replaced by the previous owner. (I still have the old one to be included in the sale). I even have the original stereo but this is not in the car. I have replaced the rear lights as a previous owner had tried unsuccessfully to tint them. I have replaced the black exterior window surrounds because they were beggining to puff up as they do. The stock aircan has been chopped open - not every ones cup of tea.
Since I have had her she has been fully serviced, has had the rear brake calipers replaced with brand new items, new performance brake pads all round, replaced original brake lines with braided brake lines all round, Two new directional rear tyres (fronts are as new).
All the above has been done by professionals (I have all the receipts) and with the best quality parts.
She was paraded at a recent Limerick Vintage Car Club Rally and received much admiration.
At some stage in the past she has had a respray which is good but there are a couple patches which could do with touching up due to over-exuberant buffing. When the rear hatch was removed for the respray it wasn't mounted back correctly and currently rubs on one side of the hatch very slightly. The rear arches have some rust, two holes which go right through and a few bubbles. These don't detract too much from the car but would be best tidied befor they develop further. The seam on the firewall in the engine bay has also puffed up with rust but it is surface.
She has been undersealed previously but this will probably need redoing in the next year or so as it is starting to harden and flake (as it does).
I have a folder with some history detailing previous routine servicing (Mitsi service book records with stamps from purchase to 60000 miles) and some other services including gearbox and engine work from memory.
The interior is black leather in good condition. Stitching on the shoulder of the passengers seat has opened a bit and the leather is a bit hard (20 yrs old and all). The back seat is perfect and the parcel tray is still intact (no speaker holes) but is slightly bent with a previous owners attempt at reinforcing with an aluminium bar. Carpets are great as is the headlining.
The only problems I can see with her are the rust and misaligned hatch and the cold start sensor/stepper motor has been disconnected so she needs to be warmed up for a few minutes before each drive. She has a current NCT until June 2008 from memory (Irish equivalent of MOT). She flew through with no comments from the testing station.
She has been my baby whilst I have been in Ireland, always warmed up before driving and allowed to cool down before being turned off. She idles smoothly at around 800 RPM, doesn't smoke at all etc... I would love to see her go to a fellow Starion enthusiast so if you know anyone looking for a solid Starion this could be it.
I'll send photos - just email me or leave you address and contact me if you have any queries or want any specific photos. Please no timewasters. At the moment I'm looking for a very reasonable £1600, not in too much of a hurry to sell as it'll be a few months before I leave.
