Hi,
Could anyone who has done a fj 1600 conversion please help me as i have no friends who know anything about it. I am upto putting the engine and gearbox in and im having major difficutlty (as i have no one to help me).I have beat the fire wall for the dump pipe and gearbox.Happy to $20 cash an hour (sorry but thats all i can afford as im on a buget).I live at ferny hills , Brisbane. Anybodies help would be greatly appreciated.

I have got an FJ 1600. I am in Adelaide so i cant come over and help but if you tell us what you are having trouble with im sure there are lots of people on this forum that will try to help.

Datsun 1600 conversion is easy. Buy the kit from SWR and everything is bolt-in. When you put in the engine, you need to angle it heeps so it can fit without hitting the firewall or the radiator apron. Apart from that, everything else is like anyother conversion.

SWR = steward wilkins motorsport
ozdat.com has more 1600s than any other site
datnet.org is pretty good
turbophile isnt bad either

Buy the kit and its all done apart from brakes but for this just get redrilled magna vented disks and vl calipers (bolt on).

Easy but 1600 is an old car...

Get a 32 GTR!!!!!!! I wish i could hahaha

thanks Ben and frenchweapen, your advise helped heaps and i was able to put the motor and gearbox in today(very happy). Thanks michael
