men
Can I easily remove and replace the plug wires from the plastic sparkplug cap extensions so i can make new leads to suit a coil-pack setup?
I have had a bit of a pull on them and altho i can slide the angled rubber boots back along the lead, the lead itself is pretty tight in there and, as I dont have any spare leads, I didnt want to bugger the lead if the wire will not come out of the extension.
Any help would be very cool.

C'mon dudes
Surely someone has looked at this issue when converting from a dizzy to coil-packs?

i think you'll find the rubber elbow piece slides away from the spark plug end first, and then the lead actually goes out the other end. that is you pull the lead back from the hole where the spark plug goes in.

i'll double check on my spare ones tonight...

Thats very cool dude thanks.
I kind of thought that the extension was not a lot more than some kind of standoff but i didnt want to end up with a buggered lead before i had found out for sure.
let me know when you have a look
Cheers

If you use regular 10mm leads the rubber boot sits reasonably snug around the lead so you can push a standard lead on to the plug then slide the boot down and push it into place. You could use smaller leads but the rubber boot wouldn’t fit as snug.

Alternatively you could go to any AutoBarn, Revulsion Race Gear, Repco or good parts shop and get custom leads made. They may need your original leads.

yer i could do but thats what i want to avoid.
I dont want to piss around trying to fit standard leads onto the top of the plugs way down in the plug hole!
I want to use the original plastic plug cap extensions and round rubber "bungs" (whatever theyre called) and the stock rubber elbows but add new leads to suit my coil-pack setup.
I was hoping that the leads would simply pull out of the top of the extension but apparently they actually feed thru the extension and right down to the plug from the plug end, not the top.
i dont have any spares and didnt want to bugger the existing leads until I found out.
It has surprised me that more dude have not investigated theis.
they must just go and get a custom set made. bugger that!
