just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction with what coils to use with my mtx8/fj20det setup, the microtech is setup to run 4 coilpacks and im led to believe it has built in ignition module also.

is there a car that i can grab 4 bosch style coil packs from at a wreckers/importer or do i need to buy them off the shelf, if so what ones to buy?

im aware ca18det have multi coil setup but they are incorporated into the whole spark plug lead as one piece?

i think someone told me RB26DETT coil packs can be used??

Run 4 x bosch coils mate! Microtech sell these $50 RRP each

yeh sweet! in repco they have 3 different types of the bosch style coil packs, two of which are just black but they have different spark plug lead connections(obviously id get the ones to suit my leads) and they also have a GT40 coil pack (they also have this style in the normal coil style) which are red and im buggered if i can tell the difference between them all other than the lead connections....

a part number would help if someone can tell me what they have running in there cars ill go match it up and ill be set!!

The black one

Bosch HEC 715 (I think)!
The MEC ( cant remember the number) coil will work as well.
Both are black and are designed for electronic ignition systems.

GT40 (red) coils are really designed for old points systems altho guys still use them on electronic systems.

The 715 is the coil Microtech use!

yeh the part number you gave me is right, they are $56.99 each at repco (HEC715)

anyone got some second hand ones they can sell me a bit cheaper?
