| Greetings folks,
I managed to source a set of Nismo FJ20ET from a local Datsun ex-racer. He's been sitting on a warehouse full of old-school parts for years and finally has started getting rid of some things.
He had, new in the box, NISMO cams for an FJ20ET, but there is nothing on the box or in it with specs. He got them about 15 years ago as part of a package deal on one of his many vintage race Dattos (1200 with the craziest 13-inch rims I've ever seen ... like 13x10s with 1-inch backspace)
Before I grab them, (very affordable) I was wondering if anyone knows
a) Are the cams marked? I've seen a few aftermarket cam companies that stamp the duration into the part # or on the face. There is a part number on the box, but stupid me lost the paper I wrote it down on.
b) what (if any) cams were available from NISMO for the FJ20 turbo? I've been googling all day, but I have not found a single reference to them anywhere. I'd hate to buy them only to find out they are OEM factory replacements.
Thanks!

They may be the old GroupA cams, that's the only real factory supported turbo effort I'm aware of.
Leave em alone if they are, the groupA stuff had to be a real compromise because of the rules and regs at the time (eg. limited to stock lift) | |
