autometer water temp. gauge

i have a liquid filled mechanical water temp gauge that i want 2 fit 2 my fj. i'm having trouble as i can't find an adapter to suit. has anybody had any experiences with this or any 1 got any solutions. i want 2 try and use the gauge i have and not fork out for a new electrical one.

i got some adaptors from pirtek to fit gauges in the past

Yeah, www.pirtek.com.au should have the fittings, or i've found auto one (pacific spares) also carry a bunch of brass fittings and t-pieces, just take it in and ask.

yeah tried pirtek and he gave me like half a a couple of fittings. they are way 2 big. cause the motors in a gemini the top radiator hose will foul the fittings. they end up being pretty chunky hey, looks like something off a spaceship...might do what crazyfj has done and tap a thread in the side.
