I am looking at purchasing a DR30.
Some relevant questions for you.
1. Will FJ's happily rev for extended periods of time?
2. Are the heads solid or hydralic lifter? Bucket on shim or rocker?
3. How strong are the gearboxes and are they replaceable with other nissan gearboxes? (eg sr20, CA18 or Rb20?)
4. Are the factory LSD's clutch type (mechanical) or viscous type?
5. What is the recommended power limit on standard internals?
I intend on using this car as a competition drift car.

Then motor care should be your main concern, i would look at things like (sump pickup, oil pump, oil cooler, fuel Surge, airflow whilst sideways...to oil cooler and radiator)
Maybe Radiator in boot and cooler up higher to avoid damage...
The FJ is a hard engine but no engine likes being thrashed and not being able corectly maintain complete oil and fuel protection
