I have been looking at the engine manual and was wondering if i can take the Fj head off without removing the cams?

is this a bad idea?

No you do not need to remove the cams. make sure you do not lose the timing chains into the crank case.

Can anyone find the old thread onthe sierra cosworth head studs. This new set in the rocket catalogue is definitely a different part number to the sierra ones...

Found the old thread, - in 2003 it was. These new head studs are certainly worth a look, if they are slightly longer than the sierra ones, they will be right on the money

Also looks like they have main studs too - happy days !

Just a tip when putting the head back on, make sure the curved chain guide is in the head cavity, you cannot put this guide back on the engine once the head is on.
