The4 boxes are suppose to be really easy to fit into a bluebird, i drive an FJ Bluey myself and i know some people who have done the conversion, go to www.910bluebird.com you'll get more help there. but apparantly its only 1 bolt hole mount.

Hi Guys, I have fitted an RB25T box to my bluey. It can be done, but not as easy as some people think. The two top mounting holes need to be elongated to match the engine. Then you need to cut the original bluebird crossmember mounts from the floor (under the car). The rb25 box is huge compared to the bluey box, and has only 5mm clearance either side, and would bump the original mounts constantly. So you need to fabricate a new crossmember and bolt it to the floor. Then you need a custom tailshaft, and a VL turbo speedo drive to work with the bluey cable type speedo. In an S3, the gear lever will fit the original hole in the floor. Sounds simple but it's alot of work. But you'll never break it.

So slotting of the bell housing holes, custom gbox mount and new tailshaft. Yes indeed very straight foward. Like any other.

It seemed to me weird to have to cut the trans tunnel to fit this box. It is big but its not caterpiller gbox.

You don't actually have the cut or modify the tunnel, just remove the crossmember mounts from the tunnel with an angle grinder and chisel. Then build a custom crossmember which bolts directly to the floor.(With some big ass washers of course).

Jus thought Id let you know that if you wanna use a RB25 gearbox, make sure it is from a series 1 skyline. If you get one from a series 2, the box is a pull-type and wont work.

Im getting one at the moment...well if the price is right. These suckers go for a lot of cash....

I don't really understand what you mean by "pull type"

Anyhow, I paid $500 for mine. I realised later that it was a steal, because I've seen them on jap importers websites for up to $1750 second hand.

I know of 500-600hp drag skylines using standard RB25 gearboxes with no problems, so even a wild FJ won't kill one of these things.

I'm happy to help anyone doing this mod, can't take pictures though coz I'm in the US now.
