What is the stock thickness of the FJ20ET and FJ20E HG?

i think someone has already mentioned the copper HGs avail from rocket industries. Anyone using this with success?

Whats the best gasket that wont blow under extreme (ie 30 psi) conditions, ie reliably?

Cheers

M8 provided you dont detonate it, and its assembled well, the stock HG will be fine at high boost pressures.

What the stock HG will do tho is blow easily before more sinister engine damage happens as a result of detonation.

Copper HG's, are in my view, are a sledgehammer tactic to deal with poor tuning. They are also a bit of a nuicance to seal up as well.

Hmmmm, im sure uncompressed, as you buy them from nissan etc.

How are you meant to know how much the gasket compresses? Infact, now when people quote gasket thicknesses...i dont know whether its compressed on cylinder head or not. For example, surely a 1mm metal HG would not compresses as much as a 1mm stock HG...meaning the stock HG has higher compression ratio.

I assume its 1.5mm for the later higher compression engine?

Im sure all fj20s high/low comp ratio and even NAs use same gasket. Someone must know.

I'm using an FJ24 head gasket with machined brass rings inside the stock sealing rings, which can take just about any boost you desire. I've had no problems with mine, and the brass rings can be re-used. The other option is to o-ring the block.

Talk to Stewart Wilkins, he can hook you up.

Cometic metal head Gasket’s are the goods.
There is a few different thicknesses available for FJ20.

They are available through Rocket Ind so most reputable performance shops will sell them.

I doub't you'll find that kind of info here. Better to talk to the manufacturer and see if they have specs.
