Water pump

I've read here that the FJ20T water pump is the same as L6 (240K, 280ZX etc), just turned upside down.

Does that mean that I can go get one, and install it on an FJ, or is there some reason they won't work, eg should be installed the right way up etc.

i used a water pump of a datsut L20 motor and all that was needed was to drill 1 hole bigger

Nope , L series 6 Cyl with the body rotated 180 degrees - bolt .
The four cylinder ones are longer so the pulley won't line up with the others .

just go to repco and get them to find one, for me they found the genuine part numbet then cross referenced it to find a cheaper one got it for $90

yeah lads, its the 6 cyl 260Z pump. i bought a new one about 3 weeks ago. if ya still need it, i could hunt around and find the part number etc.

The FJ pump is the same as 6 cylinder L series, just need to drill one of the smaller holes larger.
Part No. from Supercheap is W754--$56
Part No. from Repco is WP754--$90
The pump I bought from Supercheap was even made in Japan & not Taiwan like so many parts these days.
