hi my fj20e broke a crank last week its in a escort rally car on 48mm webers big cams large valves forged pistons steel rods dry sumped etc .. 205hp at the rear wheels It started 2km from the start of the stage with a small vibration which got worse so about10km later the motor got very noisy so i turned it off. We took the motor out and found the crank had broken at number 4 big end .Also i run the std frount pully which all the rubber had come out and had left the outer pully very loose. could this had made the vibration that broke the crank or is it the other way around ?? we would like to make a solid one .Do the 240rs run a solid one? Can someone Help??

Hey Rob

Damn! too much grunt buddy!..

Yes, the 240's run a solid front pulley. Mate give us a call, 021 961 446, i've lost your number. I was also going get some more pulleys made.

My friend had this happen to him on his L1800 from the opposire end. The ring gear on one of the Fidanza flywheels loosened up, along with 2 cluch cover bolts, the wole assemble started to sin eccentric and snapped the crank at #4. Rod assembly held ir all together tho, so no catastrophic damage.

Harmonic balancer? Factory spend money on putting them on for a good reason. So crankshafts won't break.
